LPKF laser welding systems (at Medtec in Stuttgart from 4 ­– 6 April) come with a calibrated working area, Soft-PLC, and the LPKF ProSet 3D CAM software. ProSet 3D takes the CAD data for the clamping tool and the product, and uses this to determine optimal welding contours in only a few minutes – even with a fluctuating welding surface in the z direction.

For the past 40 years, LPKF has been the global market leader in the field of systems for manufacturing PCBs in development laboratories. And now, the Garbsen-based company is rounding off the high end of this segment with a world first: ProtoLaser R is the first system optimised for the use in development departments using an ultrashort pulse laser, allowing it to work on highly sensitive materials thanks to the lack of heat input.

LPKF has made a name for itself in laser systems for micro material processing. At this year's productronica in Munich, the company will present its new laser systems and production processes in Hall B3 Stand 303. Some of LPKF's recent additions include a picosecond laser in a new price-to-performance class and updated versions of the familiar ProtoLaser.
