Energy monitoring hot swap controller enables 100A+ boards
Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC4282, an energy monitoring Hot Swap controller with dual MOSFET drive to enable 100A and higher current board designs. The LTC4282 ensures safe board insertion and removal from live 2.9 to 33V backplanes by controlling external N-channel MOSFETs to gently power up capacitors, avoiding sparks, connector damage and system glitches.
15Ms/s SAR ADC offers 20dB SNR improvement
Linear introduces the LTC2387-18, an ultrafast 15Ms/s, 18-bit SAR ADC with no cycle latency and no pipeline delay. The LTC2387-18 digitises wideband analogue signals up to the Nyquist frequency with very low distortion. Applications that traditionally utilise fast throughput pipelined ADCs can now achieve 20dB SNR improvement compared to pipelined ADC architectures.
Six-rail sequencer features non-volatile configuration
Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC2937, a programmable power supply sequencer and voltage supervisor, with built-in EEPROM, for six voltage rails. The LTC2937 is designed to carefully supervise and control FPGA, ASIC and MPU POL supplies, which require tight accuracy and complex sequencing to avoid damage to the processor.
Precision differential amp is optimised for SAR & ΔΣ ADCs
Linear Technology Corporation has announced the introduction of the LTC6363, a low power, high precision, fully differential amplifier optimised for driving high performance 16-, 18- and 20-bit SAR and ΔΣ ADCs. Featuring 100µV maximum input offset voltage and 2.9nV/√Hz input-referred voltage noise, the LTC6363 consumes just 19mW on a 10V supply.
LVDS output comparator reaches toggle rates up to 890Mb/s
Linear announces the LTC6754, a high speed LVDS output comparator capable of toggle rates up to 890Mb/s. This extremely fast comparator operates with only 1.8ns of propagation delay, 1ns of overdrive dispersion, and 1.5psRMS of jitter. Combined, these features address the most challenging high speed applications for data acquisition, clock and data recovery and line receiving.
Sync-buck-boost converter consumes just 680nA quiescent
Linear Technology announces the LTC3335, a nanopower high efficiency synchronous buck-boost converter with an onboard precision coulomb counter. It delivers up to 50mA of continuous output current. With only 680nA of quiescent current and programmable peak input currents from 5 to 250mA, the device is suitable for a wide variety of low power battery applications.
LDO negative regulator features rail-to-rail operation
Linear announces the LT3091, the latest addition to its LDO+ family, a 1.5A low dropout negative linear regulator featuring low noise, rail-to-rail operation, precision programmable current limit and a bidirectional output current monitor. The device is cable-drop compensation capable, easily paralleled for higher current or circuit board heat spreading, and configurable as a 3-terminal floating regulator.
Generator IC's low-noise & ripple suits sensitive circuits
Linear Technology Corporation announces the LT3095, a dual-channel IC delivering two very low noise, low ripple bias supplies from a single input. Each channel incorporates a monolithic step-up DC/DC converter post-regulated by an integrated ultralow noise and high PSRR (power supply rejection ratio) linear regulator.
DC/DC converter configurable for boost, SEPIC or inverter operation
Linear Technology Corporation announces the LT8330, a current mode, 2MHz step-up DC/DC converter with an internal 1A, 60V switch. It operates from an input voltage range of 3 to 40V, making it suitable for applications with input sources ranging from a single-cell Li-Ion to automotive inputs. The LT8330 can be configured as either a boost, SEPIC or an inverting converter.
36V regulator seamlessly transitions between buck & boost
Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTM8054, a 36VIN (40Vmax) 5.4A µModule regulator in small 11.25x15x3.42mm BGA package. The LTM8054 regulates an output voltage equal to, greater or less than the input voltage. This enables a regulated output voltage even if either or both input and output voltages vary greatly as the device seamlessly transitions between buck and boost functions.
Synchronous buck regulator consumes just 7µA quiescent
Linear has announced the LT8631, a 1A, 100V input capable synchronous step-down switching regulator. Synchronous rectification delivers efficiency as high as 90% while Burst Mode operation keeps quiescent current under 7µA in no-load standby conditions. Its 3V to 100V input voltage range makes it suitable for 48V automotive systems, dual battery transportation, industrial and 36-72V telecomms applications.
High voltage charge pumps deliver dual low noise outputs
Linear Technology Corporation has announced the LTC3265, a high voltage, highly integrated, low noise dual output power supply which takes a single positive input supply (VIN_P) and generates low noise bipolar rails up to ±2•VIN_P without any inductors. The device includes a boost doubling charge pump, an inverting charge pump and two LDO regulators.
Power management solutions for Altera's Arria 10 FPGAs
Linear Technology Corporation announces power management solutions for the Altera Arria 10 FPGA Development Kit. Linear’s solutions address key power requirements of the Arria 10 FPGA Development Kit and its supporting system blocks. For example, the LTC3877 VID Controller plus LTC3874 Phase Extender DC/DC Regulator provide 105A at 0.95V for the core rail from a 12V input.
1.5A, 15V sync boost regulator offers 95% efficiency
Linear Technology Corporation has announced the LTC3121, a 3MHz current mode, synchronous boost DC/DC converter with integrated output disconnect. Its internal 1.5A switches deliver output voltages as high as 15V from an input voltage range of 1.8V at start-up (0.5V when running) to 5.5V, making it suitable for battery or standard 3.3V and 5V power sources.
Multiphase sync-buck DC/DC controller uses 6-bit VID
Linear's LTC3877 is a dual output multiphase synchronous step-down DC/DC controller with 6-bit Voltage IDentification (VID) control that enables 10mV output voltage step resolution, a necessary feature when powering FPGAs and ASICs with tight input voltage requirements. The LTC3877 operates from input voltages of 4.5 to 38V and produces a fixed output voltage from 0.6 to 1.23V when using VID and up to 5V without VID.
Sync buck DC/DC controller enables use of DrMOS
Linear Technology Corporation has announced the LTC3887-1, a dual output synchronous step-down DC/DC controller with I²C-based PMBus interface for digital power system management. The LTC3887-1 differs from the previously released LTC3887 by providing a three-state PWM signal, enabling the use of DrMOS, power blocks or similar power stages.

Linear announces the LTC5549, a double-balanced mixer that can operate either as an upconverter or downconverter, with a very wide RF frequency range from 2 to 14GHz. The LTC5549 offers exceptionally high linearity of 24.4 dBm IIP3 at 9GHz and enables efficient microwave transmitter and receiver designs with an integrated LO buffer that needs only a 0dBm drive level, effectively eliminating an external high power LO amplifier circuit.
