Step-down switching regulator offers 93% efficiency

Linear Technology Corporation has announced the LT8602, a 42V input capable, high efficiency quad output synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator. Its quad channel design combines two high voltage 2.5 and 1.5A channels with two lower voltage 1.8A channels to provide four independent outputs, delivering voltages as low as 0.8V.

µModule regulator's low profile suits PCIe & AMC

Linear Technology Corporation has introduced the LTM4622, a dual 2.5A or single 5A step-down µModule regulator in a small and ultrathin package. Only three capacitors and two resistors are required, and the solution occupies less than 1cm² single-sided or 0.5mm² on a double-sided PCB. Housed in a 6.25x6.25x1.82mm LGA package, the LTM4622 includes a switching DC/DC regulator, MOSFETs, inductors and supporting circuitry.

SEPIC/boost DC/DC converter suits always-on applications

Linear Technology Corporation has announced the LT8494, a current mode, fixed frequency SEPIC/boost DC/DC converter with an internal 2A, 70V switch. Ultralow quiescent current of only 7µA makes the device suitable for always-on automotive or other industrial battery powered systems. The LT8494 starts up from an input voltage range of 2.5V to 32V and once running it operates from inputs from 1 to 60V.

Battery charger controller supports digital telemetry

Linear Technology Corporation introduces the LTC4015, a highly integrated, high voltage multichemistry synchronous step-down battery charger controller with onboard telemetry functions. The device efficiently transfers power from a variety of input sources, such as wall adapters and solar panels, to a Li-Ion/Polymer, LiFePO4 or lead-acid battery stack and system load up to 35V.

Linear Technology has introduced the LT4276 LTPoE++, PoE+ and PoE-compliant Powered Device (PD) interface controllers for applications requiring 2 to 90W of delivered power. The LT4276 integrates a PD controller and an isolated switching regulator controller, capable of synchronous operation in both forward and flyback topologies with auxiliary power support.

EEPROM addition allows temperature IC to stand alone

Linear introduces the LTC2984, a high performance digital temperature measurement IC that directly digitises RTDs, thermocouples, thermistors and external diodes with 0.1°C conformity and 0.001°C resolution.  The LTC2984 builds on Linear’s LTC2983 by adding Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) that stores user configuration data and custom sensor coefficients.

Simultaneous sampling SAR ADC offers flexibility

Linear has introduced the LTC2348-18, an 18-bit, 8-channel simultaneous sampling SAR ADC with industry-leading performance and flexibility. While converting eight channels at 200ks/s per channel throughput, each SoftSpan input can be independently configured on a conversion-by-conversion basis to accept ±10.24, 0 to 10.24, ±5.12, or 0 to 5.12V signals.

Rugged linear regulator features increased SOA

Linear has announced the LT3088, a rugged 800mA wide VIN-range linear regulator. The device has an extended Safe Operating Area (SOA) compared to existing regulators, making it suitable for high input-to-output voltage and high output current applications where older regulators limit the output. The LT3088 uses a current source reference for single resistor output voltage settings and output adjustability down to 0.

3-8GHz upconversion mixer offers excellent linearity

Linear Technology has announced the LTC5576, an active double balanced upconversion mixer with very wide RF frequency range, extending from 3 to 8GHz. The LTC5576 enhances microwave transmitter and upconversion performance with linearity of 25dBm OIP3 and conversion loss of only 2dB at 8GHz, providing superior output signal quality compared to alternative passive mixers, which typically have 8dB of loss.

A 16-bit, 2.7Gs/s DAC optimised for high end broadband wired-and-wireless communications and radar applications has been released by Linear Technology. To meet the most stringent requirements of high end applications, the LTC2000A offers outstanding spectral purity of 80dBc SFDR at 50MHz output and 72dBc SFDR at 1080MHz output.
