Keysight Technologies has introduced transmitter (TX) test support for the USB 3.1 specification with the U7243B USB 3.1 transmitter performance validation and compliance test software. The test software allows authorised test centres to certify SuperSpeed USB and SuperSpeed USB 10-Gbps devices and gives in-house test and performance validation engineers the tools to ensure their devices comply with the USB 3.1 specification.
Whitepaper explores current activity in 5G
Even as LTE and LTE Advanced (4th gen cellular systems) are being deployed, work is already starting on their successor: 5G. This whitepaper from Keysight Technologies describes the needs that demand continued development of mobile and fixed-line communications systems, and explains some background on who is involved and what is currently happening in bringing 5G from theory to reality.
MOI supports USB 2.0 connector, cable assembly test
Keysight Technologies has published its Method of Implmentation (MOI) document for USB 2.0 connector and cable assembly compliance testing using the ENA Series network analyser’s enhanced time domain analysis option (E5071C-TDR). Developed in the mid-1990s, the USB standard features a number of variants including SuperSpeed USB, also known as USB 3.0, which supports a 5 Gbps transfer rate and offers up to a 10 times performance increase ove...
Oscilloscope probe meets DC power-rail measurement demands
Keysight Technologies has launched a high bandwidth, low noise oscilloscope probe for making power integrity measurements to characterise DC power rails. The N7020A power-rail probe specifications are tailored for a wide variety of DC power-rail measurements. Probe specifications include very low noise, a large ± 24-V offset range and 2-GHz bandwidth.
EuMW2014:Power sensors span -70dBm to +26dBm dynamic range
Keysight Technologies’ U2040 X-Series wide dynamic range power sensors made their debut at European Microwave Week. The series consists of four USB models for wireless and radar applications, and a dedicated LAN model for satellite testing. The 96 dB dynamic range, spanning -70 dBm to +26 dBm, enables accurate power measurements of very small signals, critical for applications such as wireless chipset and power amplifier module manufacturin...
Agile signal generator undertakes complex simulations
The N5193A UXG agile signal generator from Keysight Technologies is an off-the-shelf instrument that enables highly realistic and scalable threat simulations for aerospace/defense applications. It is also a dependable slide-in replacement for the legacy fast-switching local oscillators (LOs) often used in large, dedicated simulation systems.
DDR bus simulator addresses Bit Error Rate challenge
Keysight Technologies has introduced the DDR Bus Simulator; a tool that generates accurate Bit-Error-Rate (BER) contours for the JEDEC DDR memory bus specification. The software product, which is available as a new option for Advanced Design System (ADS) 2014.11 from Keysight EEsof EDA, quickly and accurately calculates DQ and DQS eye probability density distributions and BER contours for memory interfaces.
Firmware option enhances high-speed digitisers
Keysight Technologies has introduced new signal processing firmware for its family of U53xxA PCIe digitisers. The new firmware (option -TSR) allows simultaneous capture and transfer of acquired data in triggered applications.
