With material-based science technologies becoming more mainstream, Invest in Photonics organisers are encouraging people to invest in photonics. Organisers claim that this technology, which uses light to run devices and transmit data, is in the process of revolutionising healthcare, transforming computing and manufacturing and addressing challenges in energy-efficiency with intelligent light management systems. 

The two-day international business partnering convention focused exclusively on photonics venture capital investment, Invest in Photonics will return October 9-10, 2014 in Bordeaux, France. The event will highlight important photonics developments in five industrial areas exhibiting sustainable growth: life sciences; consumer electronics; advanced manufacturing (3D printing); environment and energy efficiency; and aerospace and transport.

Invest in Photonics 2012, a two-day international business partnering convention focused exclusively on photonics VC investment, names Pierre Billardon, president of Carl Zeiss France, Hans Nikol, VP LED innovation and strategy at Philips and Michael Jeon, head of Samsung Ventures Europe (SVE) as key speakers at the December 12th – 13th event in Bordeaux, France.
