The launch of the new TeePlug TH381 plug and socket electrical micro connector has been announced by Hylec-APL, designed for underwater use and harsh environment installations. Offering the highest levels of reliability, TeePlug TH381 Series connectors provide complete protection against the effects of permanent submersion in water to ensure electrical connection, even when subjected to high pressure water jets. 

It has been announced that Hylec-APL is to launch a programme to encourage and support electrical wiring safety best practice in the industry. The company is working with industry veteran, Tony Brogan, who will be giving a live demonstration and advice on the Hylec stand, B2, at LuxLive on Wednesday.

The LuxLive exhibition in London was the setting for Hylec-APL to sign a major commercial agreement with Edmundson Electrical, the UK’s largest electrical wholesaler. The agreement covers the supply of Hylec-APL’s electrical and electronic products to Edmundson Electrical’s 350 outlets throughout the country, including all Edmundson, Electric Center and Lockwells branches.

A lever connector has been introduced by Hylec-APL at Elex at Sandown Park on 3rd and 4th November. The HYLK Kwik Lever range features a lever-spring action clamp and can be used with both stranded and solid cables with a maximum conductor size of 4mm, (AWG minimum 24, maximum 12), enabling professional installers to make fast, simple and secure connections in seconds. 

A new series of DIN-rail mounting enclosures has been announced by Hylec-APL. The DNCB Range features snap-on bases and terminal covers for quick, easy assembly and is suitable for electromechanical and electronic applications. For the latter, the DNCB Range is suitable for PCBs up to 1.6mm thick, with slots which hold up to three PCBs horizontally or between two and four vertically.

Hylec-APL has announced that its recently-patented Kwik Fix range of cable glands features a locking mechanism that requires access from one side of the panel only, without special tools, yet still achieves IP68 sealing. Kwik Fix cable glands also have a wide -20 to +100ºC operating temperature range so they suit many applications and conditions.

Hylec-APL has announced a CDU (Counter Display Unit) for its innovative, re-imagined DEBOX in-line junction box. Hylec-APL has announced a 20mm diameter member of its venting element family which protects sensitive circuitry from the effects of moisture. When an enclosure is exposed to changing temperatures, the air inside will expand and contract as it heats and cools respectively. As the air contracts, the internal pressure decreases and air is forced in. This air contains moisture which can condense causing damage to electrical and electronic systems.
