Hua Hong Semiconductor has launched a 90nm ultra-low-leakage (ULL) embedded flash (eFlash) and electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) process platform to meet the needs of large-capacity microcontroller unit (MCU).

Shipment of microcontroller (MCU) chips from Hua Hong Semiconductor grew to 1.2 billion in the first half of 2016, a year-on-year increase of 50%. With its embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) technology solutions to support 8-32bit MCU products including the automotive-grade eFlash MCU, the company is tapping the potential in the emerging IoT market and expand its footprint in the MCU foundry area.

It has been announced that Hua Hong Semiconductor will leverage its expertise in IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) technology to tap potentials in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market and accelerate the local production of chips for NEVs.
