University of Windsor establishes Wind and Renewable Energies Research Centre
The University of Windsor today signed an agreement with Brüel & Kjær - the world’s oldest and largest manufacturer and supplier of sound and vibration measurement apparatus - to establish North America’s first Wind and Renewable Energies Centre of Expertise (WRECE) in the Centre for Engineering Innovation.
Thales Alenia Space choose LDS V994 Shaker for Satellite Testing
Brüel & Kjær is to provide Thales Alenia Space with an LDS vibration shaker system for mechanical vibration and shock testing of satellites.
Dassault Aviation choose Brüel & Kjær surface microphones for development of nEUROn UCAV
Brüel & Kjær has been selected by Dassault Aviation to provide high-pressure surface microphones for the development of the nEUROn experimental Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV).
Brüel & Kjær completes delivery of BAE HVME System
Brüel & Kjær recently delivered their HVME (Hull Vibration Monitoring Equipment) solution to BAE Systems Submarine Solutions. The HVME system will be deployed on HMS Audacious, the fourth boat in the UK Royal Navy's Astute-class, nuclear-powered attack submarine construction programme.
A Mine of (Noise) Information
Managing environmental impact, whilst growing operations and keeping down costs, is one of the mining industry's key concerns. As public perception of exceeded noise levels can lead to complaints, Bruel & Kjaer has created its Noise Sentinel Mining system, which enables mine operators to meet the challenge of expanding their projects, but keep within acceptable noise limits - often defined as only 5 dB above background levels.
INPE selects Brüel & Kjær Satellite Vibration Test System
NPE, Brazil has selected Brüel & Kjær as supplier of their replacement data acquisition and vibration test system for satellite launch simulation and qualification testing.
Accelerate your vibration testing
With manufacturers facing constant pressure to shorten product design cycles, accelerating traditional vibration test times is a critical consideration.
Copenhagen Airport chooses Brüel & Kjær for new noise and flight monitoring project
Copenhagen Airport, located just eight kilometres southeast of the city centre, is Scandinavia’s main airport. After a thorough market review and public tender process, the airport has chosen to continue its long relationship with Brüel and Kjær by updating its current noise monitoring system.
Measurements on the Move
Performing noise source identification on moving vehicles is now an easier process with Brüel & Kjær’s Moving Source Option.
Underwater vibration measurements - even at high temperatures
Until now, the most appropriate solution for vibration measurements underwater or in situations of temporary submersion, has been to use the DeltaTron Accelerometer, Type 5958-A. This is an excellent solution for use at temperatures up to 100°C
2260 Investigator Sound Level Meter bows out gracefully
The last Sound Level Meter Type 2260 has left the Brüel & Kjær production line. After almost 17 years of faithful service that saw it travel into space and appear on the BBC, the distinctively shaped 2260 ‘Investigator’ has finally come to the end of its natural life after stocks of its custom-built membrane key pad were allowed to run out, leaving it to be superseded by Sound Level Meter Type 2270.
Brüel & Kjær’s Headphone Amplifier aids sound quality testing
Sound quality testing using consumer panels is now a much quicker process with Brüel & Kjær’s new Headphone Amplifier ZE-0769-004. Subjective listening tests are vital for assessing a product’s competitiveness and usually involves the evaluation of a product’s sound quality by a group (or jury), representing the targeted customer group, who undertake a listening test.
Brüel & Kjær EMS Lands Burbank Airport NFTMS Project
In a competitive bid process, which took more than 18-months to complete, the Brüel & Kjær EMS Team was chosen to replace the Noise and Flight Track Management System (NFTMS) for the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority. The new 5-year contract includes the installation of 20 new Brüel & Kjær 3639 Noise Monitoring Terminals, backed by Brüel & Kjær’s industry leading Airport Noise and Operations Management System, ANOMS, and WebTrak...
Santa Monica Airport Community Outreach with Brüel & Kjær WebTrak
As one of the busiest and most residentially-encroached general aviation airports in the United States, Santa Monica Airport (SMO) has always sought to ensure compliance with its local noise ordinance in outreach to its neighbors.
Airbus military tanker passes civilian noise restrictions
Spain’s National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA) successfully took part in the Noise Certification of the Airbus A330 MRTT (Multi Role Transport Tanker) using Brüel & Kjær’s equipment and expertise.
Brüel & Kjær launches new integrated Predictor-LimA software
Environmental noise mapping is now much simpler for consultants and authorities with the launch of Bruel & Kjaer’s new Predictor-LimA software suite.
Quality Matters: Ulsan utilise Brüel & Kjær automotive solutions
Ulsan Technopark’s Automotive Innovation Parts Center (APIC) provides test services for customers who are mainly manufacturers of components - both Tier 1 and Tier 2. Brüel & Kjær’s PULSE platform, LDS shakers, arrays and transducers are all used at the facility for automotive noise vibration harshness (NVH), environmental and material testing.
Brüel & Kjær launches hand held sound intensity system - 2270-G
Machinery manufacturers required by law to provide precise specifications of products noise levels can reduce the time and effort involved, by using Brüel & Kjær’s new hand held sound intensity system: 2270-G.
The University of Windsor Dedicates Test Lab to Brüel & Kjær
The University of Windsor’s Center for Engineering Innovation is Canada’s largest facility of its kind, covering all aspects of automotive engineering including equipment for Noise, Vibration, Harshness (NVH), Sound Quality (SQ) and structural analysis.
Increased Shaker System Capacity
Sound & vibration expert Brüel & Kjær has launched a quality range of LDS head expanders to increase the capability for customers’ existing shaker systems. Head expanders allow users to increase the effective mounting surface, which in turn provides more room for assessing bigger loads. It also offers them the opportunity to test several items at once, thereby reducing the time and cost spent.
