Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) simulation software from Bruel & Kjaer is now available to automotive designers as a module in Altair HyperWorks CAE design software. Automotive designers using Altair CAE software can now choose a module called Insight+, which enables them to listen to the sound a vehicle would make if it featured their virtual design.

Automotive manufacturers can now analyse noise from multiple vehicles on a single track using Brüel & Kjær’s PULSE Vehicle Pass-by Test System. Exterior noise measurements are essential for manufacturers to ensure their vehicles meet the industry standards that validate them for sale within markets such as the European Union.

A battery-powered speech sound source, designated the Echo Speech Source Type 4720, has been launched by Bruel & Kjaer. The device enables users to measure acoustics within any room or space, make comparisons between one room and another, validate sound systems and perform scale model measurements.

Automotive expert Hyundai has expanded its testing capabilities with a Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) simulator for benchmarking its new vehicles.

An intuitive new sound and vibration recorder lets engineers analyse their measurements on the go, using an iPad to manage data and listen to recordings. Using the portable Sonoscout system, engineers can validate recordings in real-time, to remove the risk of recording bad data and then having to repeat expensive testing.
