Simulation module added to automotive design software

Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) simulation software from Bruel & Kjaer is now available to automotive designers as a module in Altair HyperWorks CAE design software. Automotive designers using Altair CAE software can now choose a module called Insight+, which enables them to listen to the sound a vehicle would make if it featured their virtual design.

Sound idea: Two-channel option hastens acoustic measurements

Brüel & Kjær has launched a two-Channel Option for its Type 2270 sound level meter to help environmental officers and consultants reduce time spent conducting multi-point acoustic measurements. It allows both channels to receive simultaneous input, from two microphones or accelerometers.

An intuitive new sound and vibration recorder lets engineers analyse their measurements on the go, using an iPad to manage data and listen to recordings.
