Hirose has introduced the DF63W series, a small wire-to-wire power connector capable of delivering up to 14A. A slim design and all-plastic shell with smooth contour makes the DF63W series suitable for wiring in small spaces. IP67-rated water-resistant protection is accomplished utilising a wire seal and housing seal that is pre-assembled in the housing.

  Designed for use in industrial power supplies and other power-demanding applications such as servers, medical devices and home electronics, the EnerBee family of connectors has been introduced by Hirose.

Hirose has introduced the DF52 series, a small 0.8mm pitch wire-to-board connector that delivers up to 2.5A per contact. With a height of only 1.75mm and a depth of 4.1mm, this miniature wire-to-board connector provides significant PCB space savings. Hirose has introduced the PS3C series connector, a high power, single circuit (position) cable connector supporting 150A for storage battery applications. The PS3C series is designed with a highly reliable blade contact that features a clip-like structure and bellows contacts with multiple contact points. This structure lowers contact resistance and enableshigh current flow.

A compression-mounted 2.4mm coaxial connector suitable for applications in lab equipment, test equipment, characterisation boards and high-speed backplanes for data/computing and network analysers has been released by Hirose. The H2.4 meets the MIL-STD348B standard, and supports up to 50GHz with a transmission speed of 25Gb/s.

  Protecting operators from high voltage shock accidents, the EM30MSD series plug connector has been introduced by Hirose. The high power manual service disconnect supports up to 200A and features a signal contact with an interlocking switch to detect the mating status.

A high power, wire-to-wire connector, from Hirose, has been designed for industrial and medical applications. The EM12M circular, single position, snap-in lock power connector supports up to 90A using 22mm2 cables. Hirose Electric have developed and released the BF4 series. The product is a small, space saving embedded Active Optical system, which allows for a connector to be soldered onto the PCB, then the optical device with built in E/O and O/E converters to be plugged onto the board.

Providing a high current capacity of 6A at 350V, a low-profile, wire-to-board connector has been introduced by Hirose for high-power LED lighting applications. The DF59M series accommodates 22-28AWG wire and features a narrow 5.9x2.6mm (0.23x0.10") footprint and low profile that minimises LED light shadowing.

  Combining a small size and light weight with high reliability and a long operating life, the 18-position 3800 series I/O connector has been introduced by Hirose Electric. The device is suitable for cable and docking station applications within the consumer, industrial, medical and POS sectors.

Intel has chosen to use Hirose’s DF40 series board-to-board connector within its recently released Edison computing platform. The miniature platform, which is suitable for the development of IoT, wearable, mobile, industrial and automotive applications, utilises the DF40 70-pin header to allow developers to connect devices such as displays, keyboards and power supplies. 

Featuring a narrow 1.7mm pitch and 1.8mm mated height, the DF65 series wire-to-board connector has been hailed as the industry’s lowest-profile power connector by manufacturer Hirose. The connector provides high-current capacity and high reliability for power supplies, up to 4A (with 24 AWG wire) and 50V AC/DC.

The HR41A series, released by Hirose, is a group of IP68 rated, small, light plastic power connectors with advanced lightning surge protection of 15kV. The connectors are suited to power applications outdoors and in other harsh environments. When the connectors are mated, the unique waterproof gasket design prevents water intrusion, even while submerged in water at 2m for 14 days.

Expanding its plug-in connector series, Hirose has introduced slim design devices for ESS (Energy Storage System) batteries, UPS and industrial machinery. The PS3 series is available in power only and signal/power hybrid versions, with the power contacts supporting up to 150A and the signal contacts supporting up to 1A.
