Good Energy seeks more customer-ownership through share offer
Renewable energy supplier Good Energy wants to involve more customers in ownership of the company through its latest share offer. The firm’s first windfarm in Delabole, Cornwall was bought through customer shares in 2002 and its first bond offer to customers, in 2013, closed three weeks ahead of schedule having reached the maximum of £15m.
Good Energy to supply power for zero carbon hydrogen
Renewable electricity company Good Energy has signed an agreement to supply power for the production of hydrogen fuel. The firm will provide zero carbon electricity to ITM Power’s hydrogen car refuelling stations. The stations produce the hydrogen on site using electricity and tap water.
Green energy hails landmark climate change agreement
Chippenham-based renewable energy firm Good Energy has joined climate experts to welcome the signing of a global agreement on climate change by over 150 countries, including the UK. The agreement, which sets out measures to limit the global temperature rise to no more than 2°C, was reached in Paris last December. World leaders are expected to attend the ceremony at the United Nations in New York to formalise their support.
Green gas launched to mark historic climate agreement
Green energy company Good Energy has launched a carbon neutral gas tariff to celebrate the signing of the UN Climate Change Agreement in New York next week. The gas tariff, partly made up from biomethane – or ‘green gas’ – is designed to make it easy for energy customers to take action against climate change.

Plans were unveiled today for a community-owned wind farm in Cornwall which could become the first in the UK to operate without government subsidy. In 2015, the Government announced an end to subsidies for onshore wind farms in Britain.
Good Energy commissions 5MW solar farm
Wiltshire based renewable electricity supplier and generator, Good Energy, is pleased to announce that it has commissioned a new 5MW solar site near Wareham, Dorset. Oaklands Plantation will generate enough renewable electricity to supply around 1,300 homes and brings the number of solar farms the company has built and operates to seven. Combined with its two owned and operated wind farms, Good Energy's installed capacity now totals 52.5MW.
National Trust & Good Energy to tackle climate change
Europe’s largest conservation charity, the National Trust, has announced that it will be continuing its relationship with green electricity supplier Good Energy for a further two years. The partnership will see the two organisations working together to raise awareness of climate change, inspiring the Trust’s four million members to do something simple to tackle the issue by switching to Good Energy’s 100% renewable electricity.

Schools win £9,000 for solar panels
A trio of schools in the south west and south east have triumphed in a 'get creative' Good Energy and 10:10 Solar Schools competition this month. 22 schools from across the UK were given the chance to win one of three cash prizes to go towards buying their own solar panels in the competition, which encouraged them to ‘get creative’ with their thoughts and ideas around renewable energy, solar power and climate change.
