Photobiological measurement system provides highest safety standard
The photobiological safety measurement system from GL Optic – in short: GL PSM System 200-800 nm is the world's first mobile and preconfigured measurement system for monitoring and assessing the blue light hazard of all types of lamps. Blue light hazard (photoretinitis) is defined as the potential risk for a photochemically-induced retinal injury resulting from electromagnetic radiation exposure at blue wavelengths of 400-500 nm.
Handheld spectrometer stores 20,000 measurements
electronica 2016 was the launch pad for GL Optic’s GL SPECTROLUX, a handheld spectrometer setting new price standards. The new illuminance spectroradiometer addresses the need for a portable, high performance, economical solutions for lighting designers, field engineers and manufacturers.
Spectrometer takes on LED flicker problem
Optical flicker is an old and almost forgotten problem of lighting installations. It was once a frequent problem with fluorescent lamps, which was almost eradicated with the more and more efficient electronic ballast units. With the new applications in the field of LED lighting technology, optical flicker is attracting notice once again.
Control solution for LED measurements
GL Optic has introduced a complete temperature regulation and control solution for LED measurements. The GL TEC Control System includes a spectrometer, integrating sphere, programmable power supply and sophisticated software in a well-harmonised set. The GL TEC Control System is used in development labs for test and development of new LED drivers, LED chips and lights.
Spectrometer enables laboratory grade measurements in the field
GL Optic has launched the GL Spectis 5.0 Touch, a compact spectrometer that can take laboratory-grade measurements of the intensity and colour of light. Suitable for measuring the light output of individual LEDs and LED-based luminaires, as well as for photo-biological safety testing, the new instrument can replace bulky bench-top spectrometers with no loss of accuracy or resolution.
Measuring Light With Maximum Precision
The GL Optic light measurement business unit was formed in 2009 for the purpose of developing user-friendly instruments for measuring light with maximum precision for every budget. GL Optic spectrometers are used around the world in demanding measurement applications.
Integrating Sphere Allows For Precise Measurement Of Large LED Modules
For measurement of the luminous efficiency and luminous flux of large objects with the help of an Integrating sphere, GL Optic has developed the GL OPTI SPHERE 2000 (GLS 2000). With an internal diameter of 2000 mm and an opening aperture of 700 mm the system is able to accommodate complete lamps but also large modules comprising several LED arrays. In this way GL Optic, in their capacity as measuring systems manufacturer, account for the increasi...
Measuring device in pocket format detects precise LED-brightness values in milliseconds
The GL SPECTIS 1.1 is the youngest member of the family of handy mini-spectrometers from GL Optic, which allow for a reliable spectral light measurement. Together with the handy integrating sphere GL OPTI SPHERE 48, available as an accessory, brightness values can be determined with a current duration of 25 ms and very high precision.
Integrating Sphere Enables Precise Measurements for Large LED Modules
The rising popularity of LED light sources is making it more important for manufacturers, system integrators, illumination designers and scientific laboratories to carry out complex measurements for LED lamps, whereby the measuring equipment used must also accommodate LED modules and engines of increasing physical dimensions. GL Optic has responded to this need by developing the GLS 1100 integrating sphere.
