Voice feature testing for NGNs gets an upgrade
Enhanced Voice Feature Testing Application for Next Generation Networks (NGNs) has been announced by GL Communications. NGNs freely offer advanced voice features that cost extra when provided by legacy circuit switched PSTN landlines. In future, the residence architecture for voice is more likely to be SIP based WiFi phones or 4G/5G phones with higher quality audio.

Emulator simulates WAN real world conditions
The Multi-Stream IP WAN Emulator referred to as IPNetSim (1 Gbps/10 Gbps) has been announced by GL Communications. IPNetSim emulates an IP network with access to 10Gbps full duplex link or a 10/100/1000 Mbps full duplex link. For each direction, incoming traffic can be identified into separate user defined streams (up to 16 streams for 1Gbps pipe and up to 4 streams for 10Gbps pipe).

The enhanced T1 E1 Analyser from GL Communications covers new applications and enhancements. The newly introduced GL’s Synchronous Trunk Record-Playback (or STRP) application has both Record and Playback features that permits the user to synchronously record any type of traffic (voice, digits, and tones) on many complete T1 or E1 line (trunk) with accurate timestamp.

Enhanced Ethernet tester supports GTP traffic simulation
An enhanced PC based Ethernet Tester dubbed PacketCheck has been launched by GL Communications. It now supports GTP Traffic Simulation. GTP, or GPRS Tunnelling Protocol are the methods for sending IP traffic in wireless networks such as GSM, UMTS, and LTE. The PC-based Ethernet / IP test tool offers BERT, Throughput, Delay, and Impairment testing functions.

Video quality testing solutions have been released by GL Communications. GL Communications has unveiled its latest product – the MAPS ISDN (Layer3) and LAPD (Layer 2) Protocol Conformance Test Suite. The user-to-network interface is provided in two flavours: The first Basic interface structure - two B-channels and one 16 Kbit/s D-channel (2B+D) and the second Primary rate B-channel interface structure - 30 B-channels and one 64 Kbit/s D-channel, (30B+D).

The LTE Analyser is capable of capturing, decoding and performing various test measurements across various interfaces over LTE and IMS networks.
