Industrial internet control system presented in Europe
This year’s embedded world in Nuremberg, Germany from 14th-16th March, will see GE’s Automation & Controls (Hall 3, Booth 543) present for the first time in Europe its new Industrial Internet Control System IICS, a central control system for industrial asset and plant control on the basis of analysed machine data.
GE Global Research is exploring renewable energy system
Tables are turned on declaring CO2 as one of the key enemies of mankind and the future, at least in one initiative. Scientists there have come up with a twist. While CO2 emissions are notorious contributors to climate change, thinkers working in the realm of renewable energy are seeing CO2 not as either-or clean energy sources, but as an and-and. They are exploring how a CO2-powered "sunrotor" can be used for clean electricity.
Isolated DC/DC convertors precisely regulate output voltage
GE’s Critical Power business has expanded its Hammerhead series of DC/DC modules with 228W quarter-brick QHHD019A0B isolated DC/DC converters. The low-height modules provide a single, precisely regulated output voltage over an input voltage range of 18-75VDC. The modules achieve typical full-load efficiencies of greater than 93% at input voltages of 24 and 48V.
100W DC-DC converter offers typical full load efficiency of 93%
GE’s Critical Power business has extended its Orca family of isolated, board-mounted power amplifier modules with the ERCW003A6R 100W, a one-eighth brick DC-DC converter. The efficient converters provide high-voltage and high-power applications with up to 3.6ADC output current at a nominal output voltage of 28VDC.
