GE Energy Management has signed a contract with French electrical engineering company Cegelec in Brittany, France, to supply a complete static power solution for the French Navy. The solution will use GE’s advanced Static Frequency Converters (SFC) technology to provide high conversion efficiency and a safe and reliable power transfer from the electric power grid to the French naval vessels while in port.

The industry’s first compact 3.5kW AC to 48V DC rectifier in a 1U module has been introduced by GE. Compared to traditional 2-3kW rectifiers housed in similar 1U rack or cabinet mountings, the CP3500 provides a higher power-to-space ratio. 

A line of 1U, 6kW, 54V AC/DC power rectifiers, designed for power-intensive three-phase applications, has been introduced by GE’s Critical Power business. The power rectifier line includes GE’s GP100R compact, module for data centre and telecomms rack or cabinet mounting, and its GP100M for embedded data, networking and industrial power supply solutions.

A DC/DC converter, claimed to be flexible, has been launched by GE. The SHHN000A3CL features an input voltage range of 9-36VDC and a bipolar dual output, an output voltage at 15 and -15VDC, 9W output power and a 0.3A output current. The converter can be used as a traditional DC/DC module, powering applications such as insulated-gate bipolar transistors and other semiconductor device drive circuits, or in hybrid power architectures ...

GE has announced two new quarter-brick bus converters, the 625 Watt QBVE060A0S10R4 and the 600 Watt QBVS050A0B. Part of GE's Barracuda product series of fully regulated DC/DC power devices, each of the new bus converters improve power density by more than 50 % compared to industry-standard 400-W bus converters.

Offering 544 watts with 95 percent efficiency, the newest addition to GE’s ORCA series of DC-DC converters has been introduced.
