Fujitsu Releases Full HD H.264/MPEG-2 Encoder/Transcoder ICs

Fujitsu Microelectronics has announced its latest solutions in the form of two IC packages for encoding and transcoding between Full High Definition (HD) H.264 and MPEG-2 streams. The MB86H57 (15 x 15mm) and MB86H58 (27 x 27mm) encoder/transcoder ICs include memory-in-package and feature low power consumption of only 1W in full transcoding operation.

Fujitsu Claims First 1394 Automotive IC for HD Video

Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe has announced what it says is the world’s first ‘1394 Automotive’ controller IC that realises HD (1,280 dots x 720 lines) video transmission over the 1394 Automotive in-vehicle multimedia network protocol. The new IC, the MB88395, can transmit multiple streams simultaneously around the vehicle, such as HD video from Blu-ray DVDs, digital TV, and car navigation images.

Fujitsu Expands Lineup of Low Pin Count 8-bit Microcontrollers for Consumer Appliances

Fujitsu Microelectronics has expanded its line-up of low pin count microcontrollers with three new series in its F2MC-8FX family of high-performance 8-bit microcontrollers featuring 8, 16, and 20 pins. The MB95260H, MB95270H and MB95280H series contain embedded dual-operation flash memory and support E2PROM emulation, which allows a reduction in system cost, as E2PROM does not need to be connected to the microcontroller.
