European semiconductor sales in the second quarter 2019
European semiconductor sales in the second quarter 2019 reached $9.800bn, according to the European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) reported based on the latest WSTS figures. These results represent a 4.7% decline from the previous quarter. European sales of sensors and microprocessor units showed strong growth in June compared to the previous month (6.8 and 2.4% respectively) and grew faster than in the other regions worldwide.
European semiconductor sales declined month-on-month
European semiconductor sales reached $3.359bn for the month of April 2019, a decrease of 1.2% from the March-2019 total of $3.358bn, the European Semiconductor Industry Association announced, based on the latest report compiled by the WSTS. The main drivers of April’s European sales were optoelectronic, logic and memory chips. All growth figures represent a three-month rolling average.
European semiconductor markets break sales records in 2018
European semiconductor sales reached $42.957bn in 2018, a 12.1% increase from the $39.311bn recorded in 2017, the European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) reported. On a worldwide basis, semiconductor sales amounted to $468.778bn, an increase of 13.7% compared to the 2017 total. These figures represent the highest-ever yearly sales by the semiconductor industry, confirming a growth trend reported by ESIA throughout the year.
European semiconductor sales up 18.7% year-on-year
Based on the latest WSTS numbers, the European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) has reported that European semiconductor sales reached $3.685bn in May 2018, an 18.7% increase compared to the same month one year ago. During the period from January to May 2018, European semiconductor sales increased by 20.1% versus the same period in 2017.
Semiconductor sales keep on growing
Based on the latest WSTS data, the new European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) report revealed that European semiconductor sales in June 2017 reached $3.165bn, an increase of 18.3% compared to June 2016.
