The production capacity of EOS has been expanded and its system manufacturing facilities relocated to Maisach-Gerlinden, just west of Munich, and closer to its headquarters in Krailling. With the new facility measuring 9,000 square meters, EOS is boosting its production capacity in 2018 and is now capable of manufacturing up to approximately 1,000 systems per year.

EOS has announced its collaboration with Continental, with the purchase of several EOS M 290 systems, Continental is investing in industrial 3D printing as a production technology. The company is deploying the EOS systems to produce metal components in series and has also received key support from EOS in installing the systems, training employees, developing applications, and launching manufacturing capacities.

The new EOS P 500 system for additive manufacturing (AM) has been introduced at formnext 2017 by technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, EOS. The system addresses companies who want to mass produce polymer parts on an industrial scale in combination with premium part quality.

EOS has announced its support of the Swiss society Devanthro and the Roboy project at the Technical University of Munich. The idea behind this project, Roboy, is to advance humanoid robotics to the capability of human bodies. The vision is to iteratively improve Roboy models until the performance is comparable to humans in dexterity, robustness and flexibility.
