Product designers and manufacturers are being encouraged to participate in an online Envirowise seminar to obtain practical guidance on ‘cleaner’ product and packaging design. The resource efficiency programme is hosting a live product design web cast on 11 October, allowing companies to access free advice on sustainable design techniques and help them identify potential changes to product specifications which could generate cost savings.

More than a third of small and medium sized electronics businesses need practical help with waste minimisation issues such as reducing water use, says research commissioned by Envirowise.

Businesses are being urged to consider the full environmental impact of their operations, following the July release of the Government’s Energy Review.
