Benchmark targets machine learning inference on edge devices
EEMBC has announced the release of MLMark, the first Machine Learning benchmark specifically designed with commercial applications in mind. As the market for Machine Learning-enabled embedded platforms rapidly expands, there’s been intense demand for a consistent benchmarking standard, to create transparency and accountability in an industry awash in hype.
Internet of Things benchmark for Bluetooth low energy edge nodes
Industry consortium that aims to develop benchmarks for embedded hardware and software, EEMBC, has announced that its Internet of Things IoTMark-BLE is now available for licensing. Part of the IoTMark suite for measuring the combined energy consumption of an edge node's sensor interface, processor, and radio interface, IoTMark-BLE, focuses on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices.
Autonomous driving benchmark suite available for licensing
It has been announced by EEMBC, an industry consortium that develops benchmarks for embedded hardware, that its ADASMark autonomous driving benchmark suite is now available for licensing. The benchmarks provide a performance measurement and optimisation tool for automotive companies building next-gen advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
Partnership aims to create a more trusted IoT
A formal partnership has been announced between the prpl Foundation and EEMBC to advance the use of security-by-separation in Internet of Things (IoT) edge devices. By developing an industry-standard hypervisor benchmark, the collaboration aims to shatter the perception that the use of hardware virtualisation in low-power embedded devices comes with big performance and energy overheads.
Benchmark to reveal truth behind MCU ULP claims
The EEMBC has announced the availability of the first version of EEMBC ULPBench, a standardized, industry-developed and endorsed method to encourage MCU vendors to provide application developers with accurate, reliable information. This, therefore, allows developers to equitably compare the efficiency of microcontrollers targeted at ULP applications.
EEMBC and VOLKSWAGEN to Develop Benchmarking Standards to Quantify Microcontroller Energy Efficiency
The Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC) today announced an expanded working group project with the Volkswagen Group to establish an energy-efficiency benchmark for microcontrollers aimed at making automotive end products more energy aware and more robust.
