The DSEI 2019 Land Capability Conference will take place on 9th September at ExCeL, London. This conference will outline and explore how land power can adapt to respond to the myriad of threats facing a modern Army. It will also discuss the trends in threats at a strategic level, before exploring what capabilities are required for the British Army to best operate with its partners, allies, and industry.

The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) show is a biennial platform for the display of defence and security equipment and services from around the world. September 2019 marks DSEI’s 20th year, and provides the opportunity to showcase the developments and innovations which are revolutionising and modernising the defence and security sectors.

The debut of the DSEI Space Hub at DSEI 2019 will represent an opportunity for industry specialists, delegates and the MoD to look to the future and discuss the capabilities and challenges offered through the rapidly-growing space sector. The sector’s UK income currently stands at £14.8billion, and it looks set to increase its presence in the defence industry as next-generation technology and threats continue to emerge.

The Japanese Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, and the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency have officially given their backing to the country’s first fully integrated defence event, DSEI Japan, taking place from 18th to 20th November. The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence have confirmed their official support for the first DSEI Japan.

As this year will mark 20 years since the start of the DSEI shows, the UK defence industry can look at not just how the sector has developed in this time, but also what to expect from the next 20 years. So, it is fitting that the RAF has announced the theme of its first DSEI Aerospace Capability Conference as, ‘Delivering the Next Generation Air Force’.

  Clarion Events has announced that Airbus will return to DSEI in September and exhibit in the newly created Space Hub, which will be located within DSEI’s Aerospace Zone. The Space Hub will feature companies in both space and defence sectors, offering a dedicated platform for network and collaboration.

Originally established as the British Army and Navy Exhibition, DSEI has a strong naval heritage and has historically been a showcase for cutting-edge maritime technology.
