ECO on the Fly is a new concept from Digitaltest on how to continue testing boards during times of supply chain interruptions and necessary board design changes caused by component obsolescence.

Digitaltest says its Complete Optical Repair Solution (CORS) eliminates the need for manual search and identification of errors on assemblies, saving time and money. Manual Visual Inspection (MVI) is an optical test procedure in which the board is manually inspected for detectable defects using a magnifying glass.

If a product is improved or obsolete components have to be replaced, these changes will affect every process in electronics manufacturing. From solder paste printing to assembly, inspection, and testing, none of these steps will remain unchanged for long. In-circuit testing (ICT) is often a major challenge for redesigns.

A test system finder unveiled by Digitaltest shows electronics manufacturers the right test system for their production in no time at all. The online tool can be accessed via the Digitaltest website and provides a meaningful recommendation for the implementation of the individual test strategy.

The latest flying probe solutions, engineering data exchange tools, back-end quality management software and ICT systems will be showcased at IPC Apex in San Diego, (February 14th to 16th). Stand-alone versions of C-Link will be introduced at the show. These packages allow any manufacturer, OEM or EMS provider, to process over Seventy CAD systems and output data for all test and inspection platforms used in electronics manufacturing.

Digitaltest’s new production site in Stutensee has opened for business. The new extension is 700 m² in total and consists of an enlarged production space, a service, test and repair centre, a showroom to display the company’s complete test equipment, and a new meeting room that will be used as a training suite.

The Condor, high performance Flying Probe Solution will be showcased by Digitaltest at the IPC Apex show in Las Vegas (March 15-17). The flying probe solution provides larger board capability, faster programming and increased optical capability. FailSim is a new test tool from Digitaltest developed to ensure the quality of a test program when using In-CircuitTesting or Flying Probe Test. The tool simulates defects, providing the real-world test coverage on a live board, and identifying program, debug or, fixture issues that could be reducing fault coverage.

Digitaltest today announced a new Vice President of Sales for the Americas, Paul R. Groome. Mr. Groome brings more than 20 years of experience in test, inspection, sales and product management. This addition to the Digitaltest team puts the company in a position to continue its accelerated growth in the North American Markets.

As the new HYB04 driver/sensor board comes with 128 pins, the Digitaltest test systems can therefore be equipped with twice as many hybrid pins. This is also a major extension for the MTS30 system which is limited to 10 slots. The board supports fast and accurate tests for low voltage applications.
