Digital magnetic switch delivers low power consumption
Developer of TMR magnetic sensor technology and embedded MRAM, Crocus, has announced the release of its new CT832 Digital Magnetic Switch, the CT83X series. In response to a market gravitating towards intelligent solid-state magnetic switches that provide higher reliability, faster frequency response, and extremely low power consumption in small form factor battery powered applications, Crocus created the CT83X.
Sensors aim to add more flex to flexible displays
Crocus Technology has developed a new Magnetic Logic Unit (MLU) based solution that can detect the position and shape of flexible two dimensional surfaces. Wearable devices, curved panel displays, flexible solar panels and, in the future mobile phones will integrate flexible shape sensor foils.
Development starts on Multibit MLU secure microcontroller
As part of a collaborative project supported by the French government, Crocus Technology is to develop a Multibit Magnetic Logic Unit (MLU) technology for secure transaction applications and the Internet of Things (IoT). This will be the first secure microcontroller designed with a Multibit MLU architecture. By expanding the density of memory with no trade-off in the size of the die, customers will gain two important advantages.
Crocus ships 1m magnetic sensors in Q3
The first major shipment following the recent qualification of its CTSX product family, Crocus Technology has revealed that it will ship one million units of its CTSR200 magnetic sensors in Q3. The sensors are targeted at applications such as current sensing, rotation and speed sensing, as well as switching.
Crocus defends patent portfolio against STT
Crocus Technology has announced that the board of the US Patent and Trademark Office has issued a preliminary decision in favor of a petition filed by Crocus to seek the Inter Partes Review against US Patent 6,980,469. The patent is for high speed low-power magnetic devices based on future induced spin-momentum transfer technologies, which are included in the patent portfolio held by Spin Transfer Technologies Inc. (STT). Crocus petitioned to can...
Magnetic sensor family completes qualification
The CTSX magnetic field sensor family, from Crocus Technology, has completed qualification. Crocus announced the qualification alongside their manufacturing partner, TowerJazz, with the sensor product family ready for shipping for selected customers. The CTSX magnetic sensor product family includes CTSX100, 200 and 300 series.
