Quantum sensors project for end-of-line battery testing

CPI renews ISO certification for medical devices

CPI has today announced the successful re-audit and renewal of its ISO certification 13485:2016 – the international standard for medical device Quality Management Systems (QMS). Compliance with ISO 13485 is a key part of meeting global regulatory requirements and allows CPI to continue offering an accelerated route to market for developers of medical devices.

CPI and 3D Bio-Tissues advance cellular meat production

CPI has announced the commencement of a project in collaboration with 3D Bio-Tissues (3DBT) to develop an improved growth media for culturing meat cells in a lab environment to advance cellular meat production. The project aims to increase cultured meat yields and remove the need for animal-derived products, making cellular agriculture as sustainable and economical as possible.

Smart-labelling using novel battery-on-circuit technology

CPI has announced a new collaborative project with Reelables to demonstrate a novel technology for printing smart Battery-on-Circuit labels, used to track shared objects in workspaces. This low-cost power source will eliminate the need for expensive and bulky external batteries for printed electronics, overcoming a key barrier to their widening application, mass production and industry growth.

Creating next-generation battery technology

CPI today announced the success of its £250,000 collaborative project with LiNa Energy (LiNa) and Lancaster University to demonstrate the proof-of-concept of LiNa’s novel sodium-nickel-chloride battery technology. LiNa’s battery is a radical alternative to the incumbent lithium-cobalt ion battery, offering cheaper, more efficient, better-performing, smaller and safer energy storage.
