Lightening the burden of high pressure for hydrogen vehicles
Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV), powered by hydrogen, beat battery-powered cars in several dimensions. Fueled up in only a few minutes, they have a longer range and still feature all performance benefits of the electric powertrain. But the technology is still young and has to master some challenges. From a composites’ point of view, the significant amount of fibres needed for the hydrogen storage vessel, is a particular one.
Fibre Patch Placement concepts for aerospace
Fibre Patch Placement (FPP) has become the preferred technology for the automated production of complex fibre composite components. The additive manufacturing of components with suitably sized patches is used especially in the aerospace and automotive industries, for medical devices and sports equipment.
Fibre-patch-placement-based production systems at CAMX
Cevotec will present an extended range of applications of Fibre Patch Placement technology at Composites and Advanced Materials Expo (CAMX, September 11.-14.) and Composites Europe Stuttgart (September 19.-21.): As well as high-volume production systems with a capacity of 100 kg per hour, a special, low-investment version for R&D departments and low-volume production is planned.
Aircraft windows funnel showcased at Paris Air Show 2017
The Concorde Hall of Le Bourget regularly becomes 'boarding zone' for innovations during the Paris Air Show. This year, the impressive showroom and the exquisite ESA pavilion were the presentation spaces for the aircraft windows funnel manufactured with Fiber Patch Placement technology. As a partner of the Starburst Accelerator and the ESA Business Incubation Programme, the Munich Startup Cevotec was invited to present the extraordinary prototype...
Cevotec to present aircraft window funnel at the Paris Aviation Show
Just in time for the Paris Air Show, the engineers of the Fiber Patch Placement specialist Cevotec achieved a milestone: the additive, automated production of an aircraft window funnel. The prototype will be shown at the Paris Air Lab site and in the ESA pavilion.
