A new training aid using mixed reality and holographic computing technology has been introduced by certification specialist Bureau Veritas to enable trainees to experience inspecting large or difficult to access industrial equipment.

  Amid recent pleas for tougher action to improve air quality, Bureau Veritas has called for a greater understanding of consumer attitudes to low polluting vehicles in order to speed up the phasing out of diesel and petrol cars.

Organisations are being urged to begin transition preparations to the new AS9100 Series for Aerospace as soon as possible. This comes ahead of the 15th June deadline, which states that all audits completed after this date must be undertaken to the new version of the standard.

Unveiling a new, disruptive approach to product cyber security testing, Bureau Veritas are working in partnership with CEA-Leti at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The company will also launch its new suite of Smart Wear testing solutions for products including Trackers, VR Headsets and Smart Clothing in cooperation with 7layers.

The original Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) deadline was back on 5th December 2015, and is long gone; however the Environment Agency has published a list of the 60% of firms who did actually submit in time. Non-compliant businesses were given a grace period of up to 29th January 2016 to comply with the scheme, before the Environment Agency undertook enforcement action.

Bureau Veritas has released a guide to identify and enhance existing operational safety standards for BMS (Battery Management Systems). The goal is to help industries that use BMS systems improve the safety and reliability of their energy storage devices, thus optimising the overall performance of their products.
