British Safety Council survey reveals UK technology views
A YouGov survey commissioned by British Safety Council among 4018 UK employers and employees, and published 16 July 2024, reveals that both employers and employees are optimistic about the impact new technologies, such as AI, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will have on their workplace – even though decision-makers feel more optimistic than staff.
Safety council pledges to support workers during COVID-19
The British Safety Council is marking the World Day for Safety and Health at Work with a pledge to support workers’ safety through the coronavirus outbreak and beyond. It is also honouring the memory of all workers who have died during the COVID-19 outbreak on Workers’ Memorial Day – a day traditionally given to the memory of workers who have been killed or injured at work, now including many healthcare workers.

International Safety Award winners announced
At the 2017 International Safety Awards Gala Dinner, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 5th May 2017, Lynda Armstrong OBE, Chair of Trustees, and Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, announced the names of the organisations which have been judged best in sector.
