At this year's electronica show, Bosch will announce a new generation of high-G acceleration sensors. The SMA7xy sensor family improves safety for car drivers and passengers. When the acceleration sensors detect a collision, the passive safety systems such as airbags can now be deployed earlier, and the restraining effect can be precisely set for the given accident scenario. In this way, the consequences of accidents can be further mitigated.

An ultra-low power MEMS acceleration sensor for IoT and wearable applications, from Bosch Sensortec, the BMA400, is now available worldwide through distributors. Distributors have begun selling the BME680 environmental sensor from Bosch Sensortec. The sensor provides highly accurate measurement of indoor air quality, barometric pressure, relative humidity and ambient air temperature. Bosch Sensortec has launched the BMP380, the company’s smallest and best performing barometric pressure sensor, with a compact size of 2.0x2.0x0.75mm3. The BMP380 is aimed at the growing markets of gaming, sports and health management, as well as indoor and outdoor navigation. 

Bosch Sensortec has announced its next-gen Android M sensor hub solution, a ready-to-deploy solution for smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The solution integrates an advanced feature software library to leverage Bosch Sensortec’s high performance sensor hubs, motion and environmental sensors.

Housed in a compact 2.5x3.0x0.95mm3 package, the BMX160 has been announced by Bosch Sensortec as the world’s smallest 9-axis motion sensor. The device is suited for space- and power-constrained applications such as smartphones, smart watches, fitness trackers, smart jewelry (e.g. rings, necklaces) as well as AR/VR devices.
