Bittium supplies Finnish defence with Tactical Power Pack

Bittium has received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces for Bittium Tactical Power Pack products that are meant for powering tactical communication devices. The Tactical Power Packs will be used by the Finnish Defence Forces as accessories for the portable Bittium Tough Comnode devices.

Power pack for uninterrupted portable tactical communication devices

Bittium has launched Bittium Tactical Power Pack for portable tactical communication devices. The Tactical Power Pack has been designed to be used for example with Bittium Tough SDR Handheld radio and Bittium Tough Comnode device, but it can also be easily used with normal tablets and smartphones through USB connection. The Tactical Power Pack enables uninterrupted field use for the devices.

Narrowband waveform development for tactical radios

Bittium has received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces for narrowband waveform development work for the tactical Bittium Tough SDR radios. Bittium is delivering the radios to the Finnish Defence Forces based on a purchase agreement that was signed in December 2018.

  Bittium has received a purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces for versatile Bittium Tough Comnode terminal. The purchase order concerns the final phase of the terminal’s productisation over a duration of nine months and the delivery of a batch of the terminals to the Finnish Defence Forces after the end of the productisation phase.

Bittium brings enhanced capabilities to new tactical radios

Communications device fulfils data transfer requirements for mobile troops

  Bittium has expanded its tactical communications by launching a versatile Bittium Tough Comnode terminal. The device fulfils the data transfer needs for mobile troops by functioning for example as a VoIP phone (Voice over IP), an IP router (Internet Protocol), and an SHDSL repeater (Symmetrical High speed Digital Subscriber Line).

Finnish Defence Forces to invest in tactical data transfer products

The Finnish Minister of Defence, Jussi Niinistö, has authorised Finnish Defence Forces to purchase Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) system products. Bittium and Finnish Defence Forces plan to sign a Framework Agreement for the delivery of Bittium TAC WIN products, that covers years 2018-2020, with the total value of the agreement being €30m.

Wireless network system used in tactical communications

A purchase order from the Finnish Defence Forces has been received by Bittium for further development of the software package (waveform) for the Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WIN) system that is used as the wireless broadband network by the Finnish Defence Forces in their M18 command, control and communications system. The work package that was ordered now will be delivered to the Finnish Defence Forces during the years 2017 and 2018.
