Benetel 7.2x 5G OpenRAN RU Growing Private & Public Network
OpenRAN hardware specialist Benetel has expanded its range of radio units (RUs), through the introduction of the RAN650. This latest RU is intended to bring 5G capacity to private, campus and industrial networks, as well as rural networks and public hotspots. A 4T4R antenna arrangement is featured with up to 5W of output power being delivered per antenna port (equating to 20W in total).
Radio unit integrated with 5G OpenRAN software
Benetel has announced that it has integrated its Radio Unit (RU) with Radisys’ 5G NR OpenRAN software to enable OpenRAN deployments for communication, industrial and private network markets. In addition to the new 5G solution, the two companies executed a licensing agreement for Radisys’ LTE software to allow its distribution with Benetel’s eNodeB radio platforms.
O-RAN radio unit to address 5G roll-out activities
Benetel has announced the launch of its flagship BNTL-RAN550 O-RAN radio unit (O-RU). This latest addition to the company’s RU product family delivers 100MHz of instantaneous bandwidth, with up to 250mW of output power per transmitter path.
Benetel completes testing at O-RAN and TIP Plugfest
Benetel has announced its successful demonstration of multi-vendor O-RAN hardware interoperability. This demonstration was carried out at the recent joint O-RAN ALLIANCE and TIP Plugfest, which was simultaneously hosted at the OTIC and TIP community labs located in Berlin, Madrid and Torino.
Benetel Joins the Open RAN Policy Coalition
Benetel has announced that it has joined the Open RAN Policy Coalition to support the development of a secure and global ecosystem for 5G. Benetel is an advocate of open architecture and ecosystem, this year, Benetel introduced ORAN-compliant radios and is continuing to develop product offerings for the OpenRAN ecosystem.
Speeding evaluation of next gen cellular networks
Benetel’s latest remote radio unit (RRU) has addressed the migration from closed proprietary interface protocols. Supporting the open radio access network (ORAN) 1.0 interface specification, the BNTL-RAN100-3-1L RRU will encourage innovation and provide communication system integrators and network operators with far greater system flexibility.
