Delivering Clean Mobile Power For Electric Vehicles

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled its XJ_e engineering research vehicle at the Goodwood Festival of Speed – an experimental plug-in hybrid version of its luxury Jaguar XJ saloon, powered by Axeon. The battery provides the Jaguar XJ_e with a range of up to 40 km (25 miles) on electric power.

Project Succeeds In Developing Electric Car Battery With Greater Range

A project led by advanced battery manufacturer Axeon and co-funded by the Technology Strategy Board has been successful in developing a new battery for use in electric cars that offers over a 35% improvement in range compared to existing technologies, for the same weight.

Axeon awarded funding to lead electric vehicle battery recycling research

Axeon is one of six British companies to receive a share of nearly £500,000 funding from the Technology Strategy Board for feasibility studies into the recycling and re-use of batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles. As well as researching the recycling process, the project will look at how to determine end-of-life, which is still a major issue with automotive batteries for both manufacturers and consumers.
