Design software update enables data security demo
Design software on the SmartFusion2 KickStart Development Kit has been updated by Avnet to offer a data security demonstration. The kit, sold exclusively through Avnet, is an entry-level development platform designed to facilitate rapid prototyping using Microsemi’s SmartFusion2 system-on-chip (SoC) field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
Power, interconnect devices swell distributor portfolio
Avnet Abacus has added new product lines from several divisions of Bel, a specialist in the design and manufacture of power, protection and interconnect devices. The addition of these lines ensues from the acquisition of the Power Solutions business of Power-One by Bel Fuse last year.
Micrel products extend distributor portfolio
Analogue and power devices from Micrel will be sold by Avnet Memec following Micrel’s acquisition by Microchip. The Micrel products now included within the Microchip collection include analogue and power devices, ranging from high voltage (75 V) through to low voltage (2.5 V) integrated power modules, linear power filters, high frequency switching regulators and a vast selection of single, dual and multi-channel LDOs.

Displays help trim NRE costs
The Ampire standard range of displays with Cover Lens and Projected Capacitive Touchscreen are available from Avnet Embedded. Sizes consist of 4.3in, 5in, 7in and 10.1in. Cover lens thickness reaches up to 4mm with blacks. Screen printing of customer’s logos is also possible.
TFT display modules make play for gaming applications
