ARM signs graphics technology agreement with Samsung
To enable the creation of next-gen devices capable of delivering even more compelling visual experiences, ARM has signed an expansive long-term graphics technology agreement with Samsung. The subscription license covers ARM Mali GPUs including the Mali-T820/830/860, the recently announced Mali-T880 and all future Mali GPUs.
IoT subsystem creates complete SoCs
To enable the fast and efficient development of highly customised chips for smart connect devices, ARM has announced its latest hardware subsystem. The ARM IoT subsystem for ARM Cortex-M processors is optimised for use with ARM's most efficient processor and radio technologies, physical IP and ARM mbed OS.
Create & assemble IP-based systems in a matter of days
An IP tooling suite that enables SoC designers to configure, create and assemble IP-based systems over the course of days rather than months has been introduced by ARM. The suite comprises Socrates DE, CoreSight Creator and CoreLink Creator. CoreLink Creator will easily configure and implement the CoreLink NIC-450 Network Interconnect, which is the follow-on to the CoreLink NIC-400.

ARM to exhibit IoT platform at SXSW Create
At SXSW Create, part of the SXSW Interactive Festival in Austin, Texas, ARM will be exhibiting its mbed IoT Device Platform. The company will demonstrate how the platform can be used create and deploy IoT products on ARM Cortex-M processor-based MCUs. Attendees will also have the opportunity to use mbed-enabled products, such as the Freescale Nerfinator.
Customised remote training added to education portfolio
ARM has expanded its technical training portfolio to include live courses that can be remotely-delivered in any location. The courses will provide a flexible and fast-response training service for companies and individuals, allowing them to take full advantage of ARM technology features. Ultimately, this will enable products to be delivered to market faster and more cost-effectively.
ARM to showcase devices & ecosystem at MWC 2015
From 2nd to 5th March, in Hall 6, Stand 6C10, Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, ARM will showcase devices that expand the connected experience from sensors to servers. Devices will be available on the ARM booth alongside demonstrations illustrating the ARM ecosystem across the entire mobile spectrum, lowering barriers in mobile innovation and creating opportunities.
IoT starter kit provides secure sensor environment
ARM has launched the ARM mbed IoT Starter Kit - Ethernet Edition to channel data from Internet-connected devices directly into IBM’s Bluemix cloud platform. The combination of a secure sensor environment by ARM with cloud-based analytics, mobile and application resources from IBM will allow fast prototyping of smart products and value-added services.
ARM & Green Hills Software develop a Cortex-R5 compiler
To meet the requirements of demanding automotive applications, ARM has collaborated with Green Hills Software to develop a compiler for its ARM Cortex-R5 processor. The Green Hills compiler, version 2015.1 has been certified by EEMBC Labs as having achieved a performance score of 1.01EEMBC Automarks/MHz on the Cortex-R5 automotive MCUs from Spansion. This represents a 30% increase on previous performance scores.
IP suite enables premium mobile experiences
ARM today announced a suite of IP that will enable a new standard for premium experiences on 2016 mobile devices. At the heart of this suite is the ARM Cortex-A72 processor, which is claimed to be the highest performing CPU technology available for developing mobile SoCs today. In target configurations, the Cortex-A72 processor will deliver CPU performance that is 50X greater than the leading smartphones from just five years ago.
Safety document released for ARM Cortex-R5 processor
To drive the adoption of the ARM Cortex-R5 processor in safety-critical applications, ARM has released a comprehensive safety document set for the processor. According to the company, this will enable the cost-effective deployment of more technically advanced systems across multiple sectors including automotive, health and industrial.
IoT will fire up next-gen engineers
ARM is partnering with UCL to launch a new education kit aimed at developing students’ IoT technical skills. The aim is to encourage more graduates to stay in STEM related professions as statistics suggest half leave the sector to pursue careers in unrelated areas.

ARM & TSMC announce 64bit ARM-based processors on 10FinFET
ARM and TSMC have announced a multi-year agreement that will deliver ARMv8-A processor IP optimised for TSMC 10FinFET process technology. Due to the success in scaling from 20SoC to 16FinFET, ARM and TSMC have decided to collaborate again for 10FinFET.
