Manufacturers hold the key to helping specifiers make better cable choices, according to the Approved Cables Initiative (ACI). A rise in the number of cable failure reports has prompted the ACI to make the announcement; instances reported relate to where cable is compliant with relevant standards yet not fit for the intended purpose and installation environment.

  Italian cable company, La Triveneta Cavi (LTC), has confirmed it experienced a production fault last year that resulted in flexible cord cable, with exposed copper conductors, on sale in the UK, reports the Approved Cables Initiative (ACI).

An online video campaign has been launched by the Approved Cables Initiative (ACI) to highlight Construction Products Regulation (CPR) requirements and how they affect the cable industry. The campaign which launches today targets four audiences and complements a range of animated videos launched by the ACI earlier this year.
