Anritsu to brandish 5G test solutions at MWC 2019
Advanced solutions supporting the latest 5G standards and network deployments will be showcased by Anritsu at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona (February 25-28). During the conference, Anritsu will focus on the key test and monitoring solutions for 5G device testing, Conformance Testing, eSIM, Field Installation and Testing, C-RAN deployment, Advanced Analytics and Telco Cloud Support.
Details of 3GPP Release 15
Anritsu are planning a webinar to aid preparation of the testing challenges of 5G. One of the company’s top experts will be discussing the 3GPP Release 15 and its potential impacts. The webinar will help attendees get to grips with the details of 3GPP 5G NR specification for R15. It will focus on 5G key concepts and protocol stack specification across all the layers. The webinar will take place on 12th February at 2.00pm GMT.
Companies partner to pursue 5G SAR testing
PCTEST Engineering Laboratory will conduct SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) testing of 5G devices using Anritsu’s Communication Test System MT8000A. 5G Standalone connection test successfully completed
Successful 5G Standalone (SA) connection testing has been completed using Anritsu’s Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A and a mobile smartphone form-factor test device from Qualcomm Technologies, including the company’s 5G modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end and antenna elements.
Anritsu team contributes to IEEE 1914.3 release
A team from Anritsu has been working within an IEEE standards committee to help develop and release standards for the switch to 5G networks. Following its first April 2016 meeting, the IEEE 1914 working group established, developed, and published the IEEE 1914.3 standard in October 2018. As a voting member of this team, Anritsu continues work on other areas within the working group.
400GbE PAM4 BER measurements in one package
A 64-Gbaud PAM4 Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) and 32-Gbaud PAM4 Error Detector (ED) has been announced by Anritsu. This PAM4 BERT supports 400GbE testing when these modules are installed in the Anritsu Signal Quality Analyser-R MP1900A series to implement a bit-error-rate test solution with best-in-class signal level quality and excellent Rx sensitivity for next-generation broadband communication systems.
Anritsu, Bluetest collaborate on 5G testing
Following their successful long-term collaboration in LTE OTA measurement solutions, Anritsu and Bluetest AB are extending the relationship to 5G testing. This includes the integration of Anritsu’s Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A and Bluetest’s OTA Reverberation Test System RTS65.

Protocol test system supports 5G New Radio
To support Protocol Conformance Testing (PCT) and Carrier Acceptance Testing (CAT) of terminals incorporating the 5G New Radio (NR) technology, Anritsu has introduced the ME7834NR test system. It will add support for 3GPP TS 38.523 test cases for all configurations of 5G NR, including both Non-Standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) modes.
Software options smooth path to 5G rollout
Two software options for evaluating 3GPP-compliant 5G Sub-6 GHz New Radio (NR) terminals have been released by Anritsu, expanding the range of software options for the Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A. Anritsu and COMPRION have established an eSIM over-the-air (OTA) test environment using Anritsu’s Signalling Tester MD8475A and COMPRION eUICC Profile Manager. Software options cut 5G test costs
Software options have been released for Anritsu’s Signal Analyser MS269xA series that provide support for measuring the RF Tx characteristics of fifth-generation (5G) mobile communications base stations and terminals. These options support signal analyses and measurement of RF characteristics by supporting 3GPP-compliant sub-6GHz uplink and downlink signals and specifying 1 Component Carrier (1CC) up to a bandwidth of 100MHz.
