Vector network analysers cover up to 40GHz
“It does what it says on the tin”. That’s how Jonathan Borrill, Anritsu’s Director of Market, EMEA described the company’s new ShockLine family of Vector Network Analysers (VNAs). “We took a step back and decided less is more,” says Borrill. The result is a family of mid-range VNAs at a much lower cost that will handle the basic RF test requirements of an engineer.
Field analyser integrates PIM and line sweep testing
Anritsu says it is breaking new ground in field wireless test with the introduction of the MW82119B PIM Master, which combines a 40W, battery-operated PIM analyser with a 2 MHz to 3 GHz cable and antenna analyser, eliminating the need to carry multiple instruments to measure the RF performance of a cell site.
32-channel synchronisation upgrades signal quality analyser
Anritsu has upgraded its MP1800A Signal Quality Analyser by adding a 32-channel synchronisation function for 32 Gbit/s data signals. The new function enables the configuration of highly accurate test systems for the measurement of the next generation of ultra-fast communications technologies operating at speeds of 400 Gbit/s and 1 Tbit/s.
PAM4, PAM8 test platform in ECOC test demonstration
Anritsu will demonstrate a test platform for engineers investigating the latest PAM4 and PAM8 (pulse amplitude modulation) techniques for use in 25Gbps and 28Gbps communications links at the ECOC exhibition in Cannes (Sept 22-24). The platform, which provides for high-quality simulation of PAM4 and PAM8 signals, consists of the Anritsu MP1800A signal quality analyser (Bit Error Rate Tester, BERT), combined with the MZ1834A PAM4 converter. In the ...
Anritsu wins Frost & Sullivan field RF testing crown
Anritsu Company has received the 2014 Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Leadership Award in the Global Field RF Testing market. In conducting the research, Frost & Sullivan incorporated key benchmarking criteria that were developed to evaluate the entire client experience and strategy implementation excellence.
All-in-one transport tester solves network problems
The new MT1000A Network Master Pro from Anritsu is an all-in-one optical network field tester that supports the multiple communications protocols used in today’s converged telecom networks. The tester is portable, compact and user-friendly and it is aimed at technicians who install and maintain mobile-access, fixed-access, metro and core transmission telecoms networks.
Openreach chooses Anritsu fibre optic test equipment
Anritsu has won a contract from Openreach, BT’s access network division, for the supply of fibre optic test equipment to support the deployment of advanced high speed fibre optic networks. Anritsu will supply more than 1,000 units of the MT9090A Network Master under the contract, to measure the quality of fibre optic cable and connections in order to verify the installation.
PCT system aproved for eMBMS broadcasts
Anritsu says that it is the first industry approved protocol conformance test cases for mobile devices capable of receiving eMBMS broadcasts. The test and measurement specialist submitted eMBMS test cases to the Global Certification Forum (GCF) ahead of the CAG#39 meeting held in Helsinki on July 8-9 2014, following an increase in network operator priority to bring this new technology to consumer markets this year.
Companies collaborate on RF/microwave teaching kit
Eductika is a new microwave teaching kit aimed at students in colleges and universities. It is the product of a collaboration between Elliptika, a provider of microwave and RF test solutions and Anritsu. The test and measurement company’s VNA Master series of handheld vector network analysers is part of the complete turnkey solution that can be used by professors to teach the fundamentals of RF and microwave technologies.
New look VNA cuts costs of S-band parameter measurements
Prices as much as 75% lower than traditional bench-top vector network analysers (VNAs) will attract attention to Anritsu’s new ShockLine family of VNAs. For the money, the company promises high accuracy, sensitivity and sweep speed. These instruments are radically different from conventional VNA design. There is no display or keypad. They are controlled remotely by computer via a LAN or other connection.
Clock recovery options boost signal quality analyser
Anritsu has released new Clock Recovery options for its MP1800A Signal Quality Analyser (SQA), providing for Bit Error Rate (BER) testing of high-speed interconnects at up to 32.1Gbit/s with a single instrument. The latest high-speed serial communications equipment uses components such as SERDES devices, Active Optical Cables (AOC) and optical transceiver modules, which send and receive serial data without transmitting synchronous clock signals.
Broadband VNA system covers 70kHz to 145GHz in single sweep
Anritsu has unveiled the VectorStar ME7838D broadband Vector Network Analyser (VNA) system that provides industry-best frequency coverage of 70 kHz to 145 GHz in a single sweep using a coaxial test port. The dynamic range, calibration and measurement stability, and measurement speed gives design engineers greater confidence when performing on-wafer device characterization at 70 GHz and beyond.
3GPP protocol certification follows PTCRB test case
Mobile device and handset manufacturers will soon be able to certify that their products conform to the 3GPP protocols for ‘emergency services calls over IMS’ with the introduction by Anritsu of the first PTCRB-approved test case. The test and measurement company has added the new protocol test cases for IMS (IP Multimedia Sub-system) emergency services calls to the suite of test cases supported on the widely used ME7834L Protocol Con...
TETRA options boost handheld analyser performance
Anritsu has introduced TETRA analyser and TETRA coverage mapping options to its LMR Master S412E handheld analyser. Equipped with the new options, the analyser can be used by field technicians and engineers for over-the-air and coverage analysis of TETRA networks. For advanced field analysis, the TETRA analyser includes a special TETRA Summary display so users can view key data, such as base and mobile colour codes, mobile network code, location ...
