Highly integrated AFEs include 24-bit ΣΔ ADC cores

Analog Devices has introduced two Analogue Front-End (AFE) devices with integrated 24-bit ΣΔ (sigma-delta) converter cores that deliver the industry’s best combination of low-power, low-noise and signal chain integration. The AD7124-4 and AD7124-8 AFEs connect directly to all standard industrial signal sources and sensor inputs, while reducing power requirements by 40% over comparable devices.

MMIC power amp eliminates need for RF switches

Analog Devices has introduced the HMC1127 and HMC1126 MMIC distributed power amplifiers. Covering the frequency range of 2-50GHz, these power amplifier die simplify system design and improve performance by eliminating the need for RF switches between frequency bands. Each amplifier incorporates I/Os that are internally matched to 50Ω, facilitating easy integration into multi-chip modules.

Robust IGBT claims best-in-class CMTI

Designed to improve electric motor energy efficiency in industrial motor control, the ADuM4135 is an isolated IGBT gate driver from Analog Devices. It incorporates iCoupler digital isolator technology and galvanic isolation in a single package. It has, according to the company, the industry’s best combination of CMTI (Common-Mode Transient Immunity) at 100kV/µs and propagation delay of 50ns (typical).

Silicon SPDT switch offers crucial advantages over GaAs

Analog Devices has introduced an absorptive SPDT switch specified for the 9kHz to 13GHz frequency band, with high isolation of 48dB and low insertion-loss of 0.6dB at 8GHz operation. The HMC1118LP3DE is the first offering within ADI’s RF and microwave control product portfolio to exhibit the inherent advantages of silicon process technology, which offers critical advantages over legacy GaAs RF switches.

Receiver down-converter MMIC uses 50% less power for 3dB improvement

Combining low noise performance, high linearity and low power consumption, Analog Devices has introduced a highly integrated, 4-channel, 24GHz receiver down-converter MMIC, the ADF5904. The multichannel device achieves a 10dB noise figure that is 3dB better than competing devices while using 50% less power, according to ADI, and is assembled in a small, cost-effective 5x5mm LFCSP plastic package.

2.6GHz ADC is optimised for aerospace & defence

Analog Devices has introduced a 2.6GHz ADC, engineered to address the high-bandwidth and dynamic-range needs of aerospace and defence applications. The 12-bit AD9625BBP-2.6 is optimised to match the frequency planning and signal sensitivity requirements of advanced electronic surveillance and counter-measure applications, such as radar systems, secure communications networks and electronic signals monitoring.

AFE integrates ADC driver to interface with sensors

A FET input AFE, introduced by Analog Devices, integrates an ADC driver to interface directly with current mode sensors such as photo diodes and highoutput impedance-voltage sensors. The ADA4350 integrates a FET input amplifier, switching network and ADC driver into a single package, which simplifies design and lowers power and PCB footprint by more than 50%, compared to discrete implementations.

DAC supports all wireless & mobile frequency standards

  Operating across a 100 to 300MHz band, the AD9154 quad-channel, 2.4GSPS, 16-bit DAC has been released by Analog Devices. Designed for complex IF transmitters, the converter is claimed to be the only device of its kind to feature an on-chip PLL and eight-lane JESD204B interface.

DAC & DC/DC converter combo simplifies system design

Analog Devices has introduced the AD5761R, a single-chip, universal output DAC which combines a 16-bit data converter, ±2ppm/°C  2.5V reference, output buffer and gain scaling function on-chip. Additionally, ADI has announced two dual DC-DC regulators that power the DAC with two independently regulated positive and negative rails for power sensitive applications.

Analog Devices has introduced two low-cost Blackfin processor-based development platforms, targeting demanding ultra-low-power, real-time applications for image sensing and advanced audio. ADC/DAC/GPIO combine to provide monitoring & control

Analog Devices has introduced a 12-bit, 8-channel ADC/DAC/GPIO combination chip, the AD5592R, which includes a 400ks/s ADC, 6μs settling time DAC, digital I/O, and a reference on a single chip. The device can be user-configured in any combination of up to eight devices, allowing a single IC to complete multiple system monitoring and control functions.

Smart metering unit selected for efficiency initiative

Analog Devices has announced that Elster has selected ADI’s ADF7241 smart metering solution for use in gas and electricity meters as part of a nationwide energy efficiency initiative sponsored by the British government. Under the Smart Metering Implementation Programme, more than 50m smart gas and electric meters will be installed in all homes and small businesses across the U.K. by 2020.
