DC/DC controller operates in automotive start/stop systems

Analog Devices has announced the Power by Linear LTC7815, a high frequency (up to 2.25MHz) triple output (buck, buck, boost), synchronous DC/DC controller that maintains all output voltages in regulation during automotive cold crank conditions. A 12V automotive battery can droop to less than 4V during engine restart or cold crank, causing reset of infotainment systems and other electronics that operate from 5V and higher.

DC/DC regulator provides a serial PMBus interface

  Analog Devices has announced a PMBus I2C controlled precision bidirectional current DAC designed to adjust the output voltage of virtually any DC/DC regulator. Through its PMBus compatible interface, the LTC7106 receives a 7-bit serial code and converts it to a bidirectional (source, sink) output current.

Low power active mixer provides 7GHz bandwidth

A low power, high performance active double-balanced mixer, named LTC5562 has been announced by Analog Devices. It is capable of 50Ω matching over a very wide frequency range of 30MHz to 7GHz. This versatile mixer can be used in either frequency up-conversion or down-conversion applications, with a conversion gain of 2dB. The device runs on a single 3.3V supply rail, drawing 40mA nominal operating current.

Hybrid DC/DC controller reduces solution size by half

Analog Devices has announced a hybrid step-down synchronous controller that merges a switched capacitor circuit with a synchronous step-down controller, the Power by Linear LTC7821, enabling up to a 50% reduction in DC/DC converter solution size compared to traditional step-down solutions. This improvement is enabled by a three times higher switching frequency without compromising efficiency.

Dual channel buck LED driver with I2C dimming control

A dual channel, 36V, high efficiency, synchronous, step-down LED driver with internal 40V, 1.6A power switches and an I2C interface that simplifies LED dimming control, has been announced by Analog Devices. The Power by Linear LT3964 operates with a wide 4-36V input range, and features two independently controlled LED drivers that switch at up to 2MHz, resulting in a highly integrated, compact solution with small external components.

Precision solution enables safer battery manufacturing

Analog Devices has introduced a precision integrated analogue front end, controller, and Pulse-Width Modulator (PWM) for battery testing and formation capable of increasing system accuracy and efficiency in lithium-ion battery formation and grading. Compared to conventional technology, the new AD8452 provides 50% more channels in the same amount of space, adding capacity and increasing battery production throughput.

Rectifier controller features reverse protection

Analog Devices has announced an active rectifier controller with reverse input protection to -40V, named Power by Linear LT8672. Its 3-42V input voltage capability is suitable for automotive applications which must regulate through cold-crank and stop-start scenarios with minimum input voltages as low as 3.0V and load dump transients up to 40V.

Analog Devices has announced a 14-bit, 2.6 GSPS dual A/D converter which enables IF/RF sampling with superior speed and linearity. The AD9689 A/D converter features power dissipation of 1.55W per channel, half the dissipation of comparable solutions in the market, thus further increasing suitability for many of its targeted design situations.

Analog Devices, who recently acquired Linear Technology has announced the LTM8065, a µModule (power module) step-down regulator with up to 40V input voltage (42V abs max), which can safely operate from unregulated or fluctuating 12-36V input supplies in noisy environments such as industrial robotics, test and measurement, medical, factory automation and avionics systems.
