Both the Call for Papers for the AMA Conferences 2017, SENSOR and IRS2 will be held from 30th May- 1st June 2017, running parallel with the trade fair SENSOR+TEST 2017 in Nuremberg. Submission deadlines for the presentations are 17th November 2016.
AMA directory for sensors & measurement
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement (AMA) has just published its revised and updated Directory of Sensor Suppliers. The publication provides 120 pages of information on suppliers and service providers in sensor, measuring and testing technology for the most diverse areas of application. The AMA Directory is available as of today free of charge from the Association or online on the AMAs website.
Sensor and measurement figures show slight revenue drop
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement polls its 480 members on the economic development every quarter. After a slight drop in revenue of 1% in the second quarter, the AMA members showed a further slight drop of 1% compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the results of the third quarter of 2014, the AMA members realised a gain in turnover of 3%. At the same time, the sensor industry shows stable orders incoming with a rise of 1%.

The sensor industry continues to rise
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement polls its 480 members on the economic development every quarter. After a solid result of 8% for last year, the sensor industry continued its rise in turnover with 6% in the first quarter of 2015. Thus, the sensor, measuring, and testing industry is staying on its course of stable growth.
AMA Innovation Award 2015 winner announced
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement presented the winners of the AMA Innovation Award 2015 at the SENSOR+TEST trade fair in Nuremberg on the 19th of May. This year, an Austrian development team convinced the jury twofold.
Hanover Fair hosts Sensors and Measurement Centre
A Competence Centre for Sensors and Measurement organised by the AMA Association will form a section of the Hanover Fair (April 13-17). Twenty-three exhibitors will show their products and solutions in sensor, measuring, and automation technology under the umbrella of Industrial Automation.
€10,000 & free exhibition award
This year, 50 research and developer teams from Germany and abroad entered the AMA Innovation Award contest for the €10,000 award. Admitted to the special 'Young Enterprise Award' contest were start-ups, with no more than five years in business, fewer than 50 employees and an annual turnover of less than €10m. The winning team gets the opportunity to exhibit their products free of charge at the SENSOR+TEST in Nuremberg.
AMA members anticipate 2% personnel increase for 2015
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement polled its members on the economic development: The sensor and measurement industry can look back to an above-average fiscal year and is looking forward to a continued positive development. The result for this branch of industry for fiscal year 2014 indicates a growth in revenue of 8% compared to the results of the previous year and thus exceeded expectations.
Sensor & measurement industry growing slowly but steadily
According to the sensor & measurement industry's third quarter statistics, published by AMA, turnover remains unchanged for the third quarter of 2014, while orders incoming rose by 2%. The sensor industry predicts a cumulative growth in turnover for the current year of a good 7%, according to AMA.
AMA Innovation Award 2013 for a Membrane-Free Optical Microphone and a 3D Scanning Laser Vibrometer Microscope with a Measuring Beam
The AMA Association for Sensor Technology (AMA) will present the AMA Innovation Award 2013 to the winning contenders on the 14th of May at the SENSOR+TEST trade fair in Nuremberg. The 10,000-euro award will be equally divided between the two winning projects, a membrane-free optical microphone from Xarion GmbH and a 3D scanning laser vibrometer microscope with a measuring beam from Polytec GmbH.
