Test handler to feature at productronica
Altus is supporting a portfolio of suppliers with their own booth at the productronica exhibition in Munich (November 14-17). With a customer hub located in Hall A2 stand 132, Altus will be on hand to provide detailed advice on production equipment and help in introducing visitors to their suppliers, including Cencorp and Kolb.

To promote the company’s Total Line Solution, Altus Group will be highlighting Yamaha’s latest equipment at Productronica in Munich (November 14-17). Altus, a distributor of capital equipment for the electronics assembly industry in the UK and Ireland, will have its own stand for the first time at the show, where it will be supporting principals like Yamaha by providing information and advice on a range of equipment.
Supporting bespoke desktop robots for automated soldering
Working close with its supplier, ATN Germany, Altus are now offering them full pre and post sales and engineering support for their range of bespoke designed desktop robots to address automated soldering which can grow with customers and their future requirements. ATN Germany produce a range of soldering solutions to automate tasks which cannot be completed using SMT production techniques.

Altus presented Scorpion Automotive at the What’s New In Electronics exhibition (WNIE) with the Yamaha Z:LEX YSM20 high specification, high output, dual gantry pick and place mounter, which was specifically adapted to meet the company’s requirements.
Pick and place mounter showcased at Birmingham show
The Yamaha Z:LEX YSM20 High Specification, High Output, Dual Gantry Pick and Place Mounter will be one of the products displayed by Altus Group at the What’s New in Electronics Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham (May 9-10). Z:LEX YSM20 caters to different production processes required for a wide variety of products, and features the world's fastest mounting speed in its class (under optimum conditions) at 90,000 CPH.
Latest technical trends at the What’s New in Electronics Exhibition
Presenting a range of innovative products at the What’s New in Electronics Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham from 9-10th May, Altus Group will be on stand 125. The Yamaha Z:LEX YSM20 high specification, high output, dual gantry pick-and-place mounter will be one of the products on display, with the Altus team demonstrating its impressive capabilities.
Custom conveyor curing solution developed
The YJ Link’s installed base is continuously growing, and as it is doing so Altus Group has repeatedly come across customers who were unhappy with curing systems on the market today. Considering this, Altus has worked with YJ Link and the curing lamp suppliers (UV & LED) to develop ‘custom’ solutions to overcome the shortcomings of the existing systems.
Curtain nozzle enhances coating processes
The Rehm Thermal Systems VarioFlex is now on sale at Altus Group. It has been developed for highly selective conformal coating processes. With the increase in miniature components, the requirement for smaller tolerances between areas to be lacquered becomes more difficult. To address this problem Rehm have added the VarioFlex curtain nozzle to their Protecto system.

X-ray inspection system speeds real-time imaging
The product portfolio for the UK and Ireland at Altus Group has been strengthened by the addition of X-ray and CT inspection equipment developed and manufactured by Nikon Metrology. One such solution available from Altus is Nikon Metrology’s XT V 160, a high-precision, flat-panel based X-ray inspection system that facilitates real-time imaging and defect analysis of next-generation wafer-level, semiconductor device and PCBA applications.
Pick and place feature enhances dispense system
Altus Group is now offering its customers in the UK and Ireland GPD Global’s automated dispense systems which in response to customer demand, now have an integrated Pick & Place capability. GPD Global, a manufacturer of precision fluid dispensing systems for high-volume 24/7, low-volume/high-mix, and R&D production, have expanded the performance of its automated dispense systems.
Altus join Koh Young at electronica
Joining Koh Young at electronica this year is Altus Group, and can be found at hall 1 booth 358. There will be a number of systems presented at the exhibition including the Zenith full 3D AOI System which measures the true profilometric shape of components, solder joints, patterns and even foreign material on assembled PCBs with patented 3D measurement, overcoming the shortcomings and vulnerabilities of traditional 2D AOI.
Connecting with customers in a successful technology day
Joining forces to host a seminar which welcomed over 30 companies to this one-day event were Altus Group and Accelonix. CoNEXTions Technology Day held at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry, looked at SMT production and test equipment for factories of the future, with a total of eight seminars presented from global suppliers.

Altus collaborates with MTC to develop next generation manufacturing systems
Altus has joined forces with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry to create new automated production and optical inspection equipment for the factories of the future. The MTC site itself, home to the Koh Young Zenith AOI system, will be supplying additional equipment later in 2016.
