The winners of the 5th annual Altair Enlighten Award have been announced by Altair and the Centre for Automotive Research (CAR). The award strives to promote and celebrate innovation in automotive lightweighting. The winner of the Full Vehicle category was the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, which is an impressive 249lbs (113kg) lighter than its predecessor.

Altair has announced that Fieldscale PC has joined the Altair Partner Alliance (APA) with its electromagnetic simulation software, Charge. The software specialises in electrostatic simulations, also known as electric field simulations. Charge enables engineers to analyse the electric field of an entire model without compromising to unrealistic simplifications, allowing them to simulate problems that were previously unsolvable.
