Actions Semiconductor and ARM have signed a license agreement for the 64-bit ARM Cortex-A50 processor family. Actions Semiconductor’s first SoC is due to be available in late 2014, making it one of China’s leading technology design companies delivering an ARM-based 64-bit chip for tablet devices.

Arteris today announced that Actions Semiconductor has secured licenses for the Arteris FlexNoC interconnect IP for use in their multimedia application processors. Actions will use FlexNoC for front-end designs, ensuring that data-intensive applications such as interactive animation and high resolution video do not suffer from routing congestion or timing issues.
