DSEI 2017: I/O modules suit PCIe, VPX or XMC systems
The PCIe-based AcroPack Series of general purpose I/O modules for embedded computing applications from Acroag are an extended version of the mPCIe specification and feature a 100-pin connector to handle the I/O. The SWaP-C (size, weight power and cost) optimised modules are a tiny 70mm x 30mm in size and weigh on average only .05 ounces. Each module uses less than 5W of power and boards start at $395 per module.
New Carrier Cards Interface XMC Mezzanine Modules to PCI Express Bus for PC-based Embedded Systems
Acromag’s APCe8675 carrier card offers a simple and cost-effective solution that allows a PC to communicate with an XMC mezzanine module over a PCI Express bus. System developers can insert Acromag’s FPGA modules or other XMC modules on the carrier card to perform a variety of signal processing functions.
New Ethernet I/O Simplifies Interfacing Discrete Sensors and Actuators to Monitoring/Control Systems
Acromag’s new BusWorks XT Series Ethernet I/O Modules interface discrete I/O signals directly to an Ethernet/IP, Modbus/TCP or Profinet measurement and control system network. An innovative new module design features dual Ethernet ports, removable front-facing terminal blocks, and support for a rail power bus.
New Rugged COM Express Module Carrier Card Offers Full-Featured I/O Plus Mini PCIe Expansion Site
The new ACEX4405 carrier card hosts Type 2 or Type 3 COM Express modules in a small footprint of only 95mm x 125mm. Designed for extreme applications, the ACEX4405 has an extra rigid PCB and extended temperature support. Features include dual ports for Gigabit Ethernet, RS232/422, and USB plus many other features.
New VPX Mass Storage Module Boots over SATA/SAS and PCI Express for Use with Any CPU
The new Xembedded XVPX-9756 is a SATA/SAS bootable storage module, in a 3U form factor, suitable for use with any CPU. It supports dual slim SATA drives or a single 2.5” drive, either rotating or solid-state. The module connects directly to the CPU via SATA signals or by means of PCI Express signals through an on-board controller.
