Blue Chip Technology unveil Low Cost Digital Signage Controller
Blue Chip Technology launches the release of its new Vario-A2, an advanced digital signage and video wall controller. The new Vario-A2 provides a low cost reliable engine that offers an impressive CPU and graphics performance. Blue Chip’s Vario-A2 can drive either a DVI or VGA display and includes dual Gigabit LANs, quad USB and dual RS232 ports for interfacing to a multimedia hub. The Vario-A2 can also be supplied fitted with Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G modem, GPS, Zigbee and a wide range of other communication formats.
Blue“We are very excited to be launching the Vario-A2,” said Barry Husbands, Managing Director of Blue Chip Technology. “The A2 represents a new generation of lower cost and lower power digital signage controllers, enabling the use of digital signage in a much broader range of applications.”
The Vario-A2 has been designed around an AMD G-Series Ultra Low Power Dual Core T40E APU (1GHz) with integrated AMD Radeon HD 6250G and is available with a choice of XP Embedded, XP Pro, Win 7 and Linux. As with all Vario products, it has been designed for reliable 24/7 operation and comes in a robust enclosure.
“The Vario-A2 has been designed in-house, and is manufactured at our factory in Chester,” said Barry Husbands. “ This not only gives us total control of the quality of the hardware and the software, but also means that we are easily able to create bespoke solutions based around this technology. “
