SBC suits ruggedised small form factor systems
Powered by the 4th generation Intel Core quad/dual core i3/i5/i7 processors, the ADLQM87HD is the latest 3.5" SBC from ADL Embedded Solutions. Optimised for integration in the company's ADLMES-8200 modular enclosure, the single board computer is particularly suitable for ruggedised small form factor systems.
Target applications for the ADLQM87HD include mobile and embedded applications where high processor performance with low battery or power usage is critical. The SBC provides outstanding performance in applications such as radar and sonar processing, image signal processing, tactical command and control, surveillance and reconnaissance, medical imaging and lab analysis and industrial automation.
The ADLQM87HD features Intel’s latest HD Graphics 4600 engine, support for DirectX11.1, OpenGL 4.0, and OpenCL 1.2, TPM 1.2 and USB 3.0 functionality and introduces Intel’s new AVX2 instruction set. The 3.5" SBC offers interfaces including video ports for DVI/VGA and HDMI/DisplayPort. Other interafces include: three RS232 COM ports; four SATA 6Gb/s with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support; eight USB2.0 interfaces, three USB 3.0 interfaces, two bootable Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and one HDA 7.1 port. The SBC also offers expansion possibilities with a 2x40-pin PCIE expansion connector with four PCIe x1 lanes or one PCIe x4 lane for additional breakout or mezzanine board functionality.
Operating over a temperature range from 40 to +85°C, the ADLQM87HD operates from a supply voltage of 5V and features dimensions of 102x147mm.
JC Ramirez, Product Manager, ADL Embedded Solutions, comments: “The ADLQM87HD’s new Haswell architecture is built on Intel’s low-power 22nm tri-gate process and incorporates more instructions per cycle, deeper idle states, more execution units, higher cache bandwidth, and smarter power management. The end result is a significant performance increase with much lower power than the previous Sandy Bridge architecture.”
