Rutronik stocks Umicore modules for GNSS applications
Rutronik has expanded its portfolio with the addition of three new proprietary, high-precision multi-frequency RTK modules from Unicore Communications: the UM980, UM982, and UM960 series.
These modules are based on the latest NebulasIV GNSS SoC, which integrates RF, baseband, and high-precision algorithms. This combination delivers precise and stable positioning, which is crucial for applications such as deformation monitoring, high-precision geographic information systems (GIS), robotic lawnmowers, precision agriculture, surveying and mapping, as well as intelligent driving. The modules, along with the NebulasIV GNSS SoC, are available.
These modules feature advanced hardware design coupled with unique algorithms, allowing on-chip RTK positioning for all satellite constellations and multiple frequencies. The UM980 module supports BDS B1I/B2I/B3I/B1C/B2a/B2b, GPS L1/L2/L5, GLONASS G1/G2/G3, Galileo E1/E5a/E5b/E6, QZSS L1/L2/L5, NavIC L5, and SBAS. The UM960 and UM982 modules cover GPS L1/L2/L5, BDS B1I/B2I/B3I, GLONASS G1/G2, Galileo E1/E5b/E5a, QZSS L1/L2/L5, and SBAS frequencies.
The UM982 module stands out with its dual-antenna capability, enabling it to track multiple frequencies from all GNSS systems simultaneously, while also performing on-chip RTK positioning and dual-antenna heading calculations.
The UM960 and UM980 modules incorporate an innovative anti-interference unit, ensuring reliable and precise positioning even in challenging electromagnetic environments, such as urban areas and areas with dense foliage. This feature also enhances the speed of RTK initialization.
