Compact DIN rail PC with 3.6 GB on-board flash memory
DSM has added a further model with integrated 3.6 GB flash memory to its compact DIN rail H1-A PC family. The flash module makes it possible to implement embedded operating systems such as Windows POSReady or Windows Embedded Standard, and Linux, as well as store user data.
The DSM computer’s H1-A DIN rail PC is only 7 MW wide (122 mm), offers quick and standardised installation and is easy to commission in the electrical cabinet. The 90 mm high and 41 mm deep lightweight system in the robust, high-quality aluminium housing fits underneath the rail-mounting cover. Cooling is achieved by 55 mm deep protruding cooling fins.
The power consumption of the H1-A is rated as less than 10 W under full load. For optimal heat dissipation, the 70 x 70 mm Qseven module is directly connected with the computer case. That means that the compact industrial computer can work silently without a fan within the specified operating temperature range of 0 and 45 °C. System monitoring, watchdog and effective power management ensure that the IPC is highly reliable.
In addition to two fast 1000Base-T LAN and two USB 2.0 outlets, the DIN rail computer features a serial RS232 connector; a second RS232 can be implemented instead of the existing VGA interface if required. As with the 24V DC power supply, each of the two RS485 ports is executed as a crimped connection and galvanically separated to compensate for potential differences. The terminating resistors for the terminal are already built-in and can be enabled as required. A control monitor can be connected via the VGA interface for commissioning and maintenance purposes. The user data can be saved to the onboard flash or on an SD card.
DSM’s DIN rail PC family can be used as a gateway and communication computer, web server or decentralised control unit in an industrial environment. Typical application areas are automation technology, home automation, smart grid solutions, solar and wind technology, cloud computing structures and electro-mobility systems.
DSM Computer can be found at SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Hall 7, Booth 150.
