ProTek Devices unveils new TVS hybrid array
ProTek Devices has launched a new transient voltage suppressor (TVS) hybrid array, the PTA03-3.3ULC, designed to offer robust circuit protection in high-speed data line applications. This includes Ethernet, set-top boxes, xDSL, T1/E1 line cards, and ISDN.
The PTA03-3.3ULC provides defence against the damaging effects of electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transients (EFT), and secondary electrical transient threats.
The PTA03-3.3ULC TVS hybrid array features a low capacitance of max 2.4pF (I/O to I/O), even at higher temperatures, and provides 100A (2/10 microseconds) protection per Bellcore GR1089 (intra-building). It also offers ESD protection greater than 30kV, contact per IEC 61000-4-2, and supports a telecom/diode bridge configuration. Additionally, it boasts a peak pulse power of 2000 Watts per Line (typical = 8/20 microseconds).
Compatible with several IEC standards, the PTA03-3.3ULC meets criteria for ESD (IEC 61000-4-2): air ±15kV, contact ±8kV; EFT (IEC 61000-4-4): 40A - 5/50ns; and surge (IEC 61000-4-5): 70A, 8/20 microseconds. The product is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Mechanical details and availability
Now available, the PTA03-3.3ULC is housed in a moulded JEDEC SO-8 package, weighing approximately 70 milligrams. It features lead-free plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature of 260-270 degrees Celsius. The device has a UL 94V-0 flammability rating and an operating/storage temperature range of -55 to 150 degrees Celsius. It is offered on 12 mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, in quantities starting from 1,000. Further details are available in the product data sheet.
