Limiting amplifiers for electronic warfare and broadband
Suitable for electronic warfare, microwave receivers and broadband communications systems, Pasternack Enterprises has introduced wide dynamic range broadband limiting amplifiers. Covering a frequency range of 1-18GHz, the amplifiers protect sensitive microwave receivers by “limiting” excessive input power which could potentially create unwanted distortion or even damage the receiver.
This portfolio of limiting amplifiers from Pasternack accept a wide range of input power levels, while responding with a limited range of output powers of 15-19dBm with a saturated power output deviation of ±0.5dB over the frequency range, independent of the input. These RF amplifiers demonstrate a wide input dynamic range from -61 to +20dBm, high gain levels of 40-80dB typical gain while exhibiting excellent gain flatness performance of ±1dB depending on the specific model.
The wideband limiting amplifiers are housed in hermetically-sealed packages and are designed to withstand harsh environments with operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +70°C. The connectorised SMA limiting amplifiers are unconditionally stable and include built-in voltage regulation, bias sequencing, and reverse bias protection for added reliability. Over-voltage protection is installed externally for easy repair and the amplifiers are fully matched internally for 50Ω input and output, which eliminates the customers need for any additional sensitive external RF tuning components.
Michael Rachlin, Product Manager, Active RF/microwave, Pasternack, commented: “Our new offering of broadband limiting amplifiers helps us further answer our customers’ need for a wide variety of off-the-shelf amplifier products where extended lead times are not an option. A key element of Pasternack’s new active component strategy is to offer existing and new customers a broad range of amplifier solutions available for the immediate shipment from stock.”
The broadband limiting amplifiers are in stock and available to ship now.
