IP67-rated modules deliver on-machine connectivity
The Brad DeviceNet HarshIO M8 Modules have been introduced by Molex, which it claims to be the first on the market to come fully ODVA conformance tested and approved.
Offering full M8 connectivity for power, I/O and DeviceNet fieldbus this module provides a IP67-rated, small form-factor solution for high-density machine I/O connections for CNC and robotic machines, as well as material handling and bottling equipment.
“A more compact solution than current alternatives combining M12/M8 connectors, the new IP-67-rated HarshIO M8 modules mount directly onto the machine even in the toughest environments,” stated Eric Gory, Product Manager, Molex. “The narrow housing combined with easy configuration make the modules an economical choice for machine builders.”
Featuring an IP67-rated housing, Brad HarshIO modules provide protection against dust, liquid and vibration. Machine mounting saves on cabinet space and reduces wiring costs in the field. Two integrated CAN fieldbus ports enable daisy chain wiring topology or additional cost saving.
The flexible HarshIO 8-port design supports high density I/O points for attaching digital sensors or actuators in a compact space. Featuring built-in protection to help prevent short circuit and current overload, the configurable modules come equipped with diagnostic LEDs for visual feedback on network, power and I/O status.
“Machine builders require economical connectivity solutions to replace complex wiring and I/O cabinets,” added Eric Gory. “Harsh-duty Brad modules are ODVA-certified and proven in some of industry’s most rugged automotive, automation, food and beverage, and other industrial applications.”
